By a Trump appointed judge. So it makes the measure look legitimate(since a trumper ruled against the common sense constitution). If our constitutional rights are being taken away, sure would have been nice to be more than a 30k difference in opinion.

I might be uninformed, but the major issue is capacity? I don't understand the issue with limiting that in relation to the 2nd amendment.

because the new law bans the sale or transfer of magazines over 10 rounds starting 12/8. Buy a Glock 17 that comes standard with a 17 round magazine and you can buy the gun but not the magazine after tomorrow.

Sucks for people that are waiting in the background check backlog that purchased items like that weeks ago. They won’t be able to take possession of their property they already paid for.

my buddy that’s still waiting on a BGC is calling the shop to see if he can pick up his mags before Thursday.

The supreme court also recently kicked back a 9th circuit court ruling upholding California’s “high capacity” magazine ban telling them to re-evaluate their ruling in light of the supreme courts ruling in Bruen vs The New York Rifle and Pistol Association. Means there might soon be a precedent finding mag cap limits unconstitutional.

114 also requires a permit to purchase a firearm but the permit requires training that doesn’t exist effectively making it a gun ban. If the permit to purchase was implemented even the police would be unable to purchase firearms in the state of Oregon which is a serious challenge to the 2nd amendment.

It also means that most guns with a standard capacity magazine can no longer be used for legal purposes. Plus to transport them, they have to be locked.
The voters also were lied to and told it would protect them, when no criminal is going to comply. Standard capacity mags are not going to just cease to exist because a measure was passed.

further, what other constitutional right do you have to ask permission to exercise? None, in fact, some go so far as to allow you to walk clean if your right is violated. So no, it’s not just about capacity, it’s about the government being allowed to become to big.
also, in Oregon the right to bear arms also includes the purpose to not be over powered by the military or police (paraphrasing). By taking away standard capacity mags, you allow the military more power than the people of Oregon, which is a violation of the Oregon Constitution.

    Some positive news for now:
Today a Judge in Harney County issued a preliminary injunction against the magazine ban in Measure 114.

In a previous hearing on Dec 13th the court put a hold on the “permit to purchase” portion of the bill and promised a ruling on the mag ban by tomorrow, Dec 16th.

The ruling came today and means that for now, your standard capacity magazines are safe.

Judge Raschio is approaching legend status! Now we just need him to do the same for the purchase permits!

I don’t reload my own ammo; but collect my brass when shooting and my kids love to collect it too. Anyone know what to do with the brass? Anyone in our area that buys it or something like that…
    Thanks in advance.

I don't know anyone specifically but it will sell. You won't get rich or anything, especially if it's not "clean" (ie tumbled). I'd either just post it here or in the reloading thread. Or to a local gun forum.

    Thanks!
Just doesn’t feel right tossing it in the trash and I don’t have space to keep it forever or reload.

Definitely not worth just trashing it. Even dirty will sell for the right price. For instance a quick look, 1k 9mm clean but in processed brass is 60-70 bucks (might be able to find better was just a quick look). So you could probably get 30 or so for common pistol. Rifle a bit more

we used to have a janky leaf blower and coal powered backyard forge where we’d melt down casings to cast brass knuckles…
