I depends a lot on the quality of work the shop performed on your truck. If they are a reputable shop that doesn’t cut corners, your repair should be just fine. If it was a jackleg shop that’s just trying to turn out jobs to make money, that’s a different story. My childhood best friend and his brother own and run a body shop. I have seen cars in their shop that were repaired at other shops, the quality of workmanship can vary tremendously!

As far as the clean vs salvage title is concerned, if the amount of damage is close to 75 percent of the value of the truck at the time of damage, the insurance company can negotiate with you. They can pay you a little less and let you keep the truck or pay a little more and total it. It’s cheaper for the insurance company to pay you and you keep it. If they total it, they have to pay a wrecker service to haul it to a auction house and then have to pay the auction house a fee to sell it. They spend more money when they total it and there is no guarantee what it will sell for at an auction.

My tundra had minor frame damage and extensive body damage.. clean title. Had the frame pulled and tossed panels on it. Been a mostly trouble free truck for 3 years now. I just have a bad needle bearing in the front diff making some vibes. But it’s a hood driving truck other than that

In indiana if you buy your totalled vehicle back, the title status never changes since it never traded hands.. hell my taco I bought from the original owner after he totalled it has a clean title.. and my tundra

FYI the truck will probably show as in a major accident on the car fax. If there was a police report and claim paid out it will most likely show up. It may even indicate structural damage.

This truck will have a magnifying glass on it if you go to trade it in when they run the car fax. If they inspect it and see a frame issue, they won't give you anything for it as the truck is now a liability.

IF it ever even shows up on the carfax. many don't.

it's funny how carfax is treated like a bible, but it's really more like getting a farming weather report through your brothers wives fathers cousin who works in a gas station.

Hold straight out with your hand a 4" x 4' (or longer) flat piece of sheet metal and watch it bend. Now, take that same piece to a brake and bend it into a 90 degree angle (angle iron) then hold it straight out like before...
