I was in that boat up until a couple hours ago. If the plates needed to be shortened like I originally thought, that would have been an easy mod. But the description I'm hearing now is that the plates need to be lengthened to fit. (I still find that weird, you would think that the crossmembers on the 4WD would be spaced further out, not closer.) And as much as I like to tinker, I don't have the tools to make a plate bigger. Well, I probably could, but it wouldn't look nice. :D So I called the phone number and got on the waiting list instead.

I might take a few measurements to confirm, but really I'll be patient and wait for it to be right. They sound like they are swamped at the minute.

I did say no more mods, but since this is a security mod it doesn't count. Ordered!

Ordered 11/14, delivered by Fedex today.

    2021 SR5 DCSB 4WD, no mods

Took about one hour to install because I am a 70-year old inept mechanic with only hand tools, no lift, and no ramp. Instructional video was very helpful. Only speed bump was wrestling the driver side shield into place ... would have been a breeze with a lift or ramp.

Had no clearance issues with the hose on the passenger side, see pic.

I simply don't believe very many thieves are going to see if they can pry the front of the shield down in order to access the cat ... I think when they see the shields, they will go to an easier target. Perhaps I'll be proven wrong.

Quality product at a great price. I'm not affiliated with the company in any way.

I'll be sore tomorrow, perhaps my wife will help me get out of bed.

Color me shocked, I knew there was a difference between 2WD and 4WD, but I didn't realize that it was there.

From what I can tell by measurements (I'm not taking the plates out aside from a few tape measurements, don't want to scratch or get them dirty), the difference is that the 2WD is actually longer where the red H is below:

    PXL_20221206_225000497~2.jpg

I thought for sure that the difference would be at the yellow, but, no, it's the rear crossbar that's kicked back.

That means that to mod a 4WD plate to fit a 2WD, you would need to stretch them along the red circle here:

    PXL_20221206_225057215~2.jpg

... And from what I can tell the yellow circle would need to be bent to fit the frame. I think there's a small vertical difference. The bending would be easy. The stretching would be hard.

So, I'm going to be patient and wait for the 2WD plates. :cookiemonster:
