I had a yellow SV around 2005. That thing could corner and wheelie like nobody’s business. I loved it until a boosted Honda out ran me down Palmetto Park Blvd in Boca Fl. I promptly traded for a 06 CBR 600RR after that.:bikewheelie:

Truly are amazing bikes. Sold that blue one and bought the 2007 CBR600rr. Had that for a few years and sold it because I was either going to become a felon riding it or get dead.

Bought another 07 naked sv650 that I never really loved like I did the full fairing model. Had a kid so I sold that one.

Then @FreshOldTaco decided to sell his 08 and I couldn’t resist :annoyed: Hoping to keep this one and give it to my daughter or son when they are old enough. :bikewheelie:

so question for everyone here if you had the option to choose between a ktm or husqy 350 or 501 which would you choose?
ive been told and read the 350 keeps up with 450s no problem and has loads of power and is loads of fun on road and dirt.
vs the 501 has power for days and is light and nimble even for being a larger bike but ive heard it vibrates a lot more which tbh makes since its a rather large single cylinder. so wondering which you all would chose tbh?

the reason im asking is if i can sell my m100 camping trailer and my klx (or trade it in) id like to get a newer lighter fuel injected dual sport. i like the honda crf but its a bit smaller on power then what id personally like to have.

Trail only bike I would go 350 over 501 but really a 2-stroke beats them all :D 501 if you want to do on road riding as well.

i do mainly road but some trails sometimes but not to the extreme of others since i still suck at dirt riding haha

2 stroke for sure beats them all as a trail only bike and my state would be fine with it on the road but naaaah id rather not have a headache riding to work or the maintenance of one lmao

    501 all the way then.
My KTM 200 is street legal but it vibrates my eyeballs out of my head at 55mph and it’s right at the verge of the powerban kicking in so it’s stupid annoying.

While I have my 350 at 70-75 regularly I agree the 501 will probably be more enjoyable for what you are looking to do. Typically those stints aren't for longer than 15 mins.

gotcha thanks for the info man! i normally stay away from the highway since my klx dont like it to much lol but the 501 would be able to do it better and allow me to do long trips with it better then my klx thanks for the info!

I barely had to twist your arm :D

I'm planning to buy another bike next spring, might get a DR-Z400SM if I don't find another supermoto that's in budget. True its an old platform but I like the simplicity and reliability.

A Husky 701SM would be awesome but don't know if I want to spend that much... also have to look into the maintenance intervals not very familiar with them

Jealous. I haven't ridden for almost 3 weeks. It's 30 and while it hasn't snowed in a couple days, the road leading off my cul de sac is still a sheet of compact snow and ice. I'm hoping today is sunny and tomorrow I can finally ride in again. I'm tired of paying $8/day to park the 4runner on campus

We get a few inches of snow once every 5 or so years down here  We worry more about it being too hot to ride

Thats one of the nice things about Pullman, we have really snowy winters (yeah, I know, I'm complaining about it but I still like snow haha) but also have hot summers. We usually have a solid week of 100+, a month of 90+, and are usually above 70 June through early October. It's amazing living in a place that has 4 distinct seasons and not just hot and humid all day every day.

It’s been beautiful weather here except for the fog, been in the 70’s, what sucks is I’ve been taking a truck to work because I left my bike at my parents when I took the cats and I haven’t gone back for it.

Denali finally shipped my lower driving light brackets so I’ll be able to install my fog lights this weekend.

Charlotte rain and fog last few days. Sucks so bad having to drive the Taco with the bike just sitting there next to it in the garage.
