I don't mind caving. I did a little during high school. Some of the tight gaps weren't fun, but it was overall enjoyable.

    Spending the night though....nah.

Yawl ever wonder why they tether the gas cap to the car?

Caves are cool but every once ‘n a while a riverbank spills the beans. Had to swear secrecy for almost 2 years while this ‘lil baby was excavated by professionals. Totally intact right down to the fingernails.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Here I thought it was to keep it from falling and rolling under the vehicle

Any more I just carry a extra cap. My luck it rolls under a very low car and their doing the shopping at the Quicky Mart.

No Sir, but I knew where it was. Saw too much bone pickin’ in ‘Berta. They arrested a bunch of foreigners scavenging in a protected area back then & more or less let ‘em off with a slap. I’d have none of that this time. :)

I’m still watching for the completed solution.
Back when I worked in this type of stuff… we used to make a big bandaid with a valve on it. We would used a handmade gasket 1/2” rubber with 2” clearance on the edge a a decent area around the breach. We would clamp it on with the valve open. The guys would weld it completely in place and then we would simply close the valve… voila! I’m sure one of the fitters would have made an intersectional template and had that sucker all kinds of calculated curves.

True Story… a proper weld is stronger than the original source material. In a destructive test, the weld should never break first.

Scariest place was in a house in New Orleans, overnight, during the after Katrina inspection re-entry period. Nothing had electricity, no services available, pitch black as far as you could see, curfew with armed national guard and police. Anything you can drink, eat or fuel had to have been hauled in by you from a good 200+ miles away. That MRE was delicious… Jambalaya!
Weirdest was a 78 Toyota Corolla behind a Pizza Hut in the southern summer…

EDIT: Did I mention it was HOT (like 100+) for both times? Humid, hot and miserable… I even have a photo somewhere where I look pissed off and miserable.

Because of dumbasses like me (as per my father). This would explain how I managed to leave the ‘expensive’ locking gas cap on top of the pump over 300 miles away in Mobile Alabama (yup, I still have the visual in my head) back in the early 80s.

End of day two of muzzleloader week. 3 deer down so far. I shot this nice big doe this morning. I was told to wear running shoes and a speedo for the rest of the week. :rofl:IMG_20221206_195731.jpg
