Nice - looks like you had a good time! I was just out there last weekend - it's such a fun area! What part of OW were your running? Where'd you get stuck?

I was out in the badlands area on the tectonic gorge trail. I am gonna get 35's mounted, staun beadlocks, lockers and regeared before I head back out there. If I had been a longbed, there would be no way I would have gotten out. That ditch was tight. All of my armor was put to use. Didn't break any of the drivetrain which is good.

Tectonic Gorge is a really fun trail! You must have run an alternate route or something because I ran it right after Christmas in a stock DC 4x4 OR without issue (short bed). Or... maybe I was off-trail. Who knows - it was my first time out there!

We hit the mud caves last weekend and ran through the Diablo Drop-off just a few miles south of OW. That's another great trail (if you haven't already tried it). The drop-off is tamer now than it used to be (from what I've heard), but there's still a lot of challenge to it. We ran it downhill, but I imagine uphill would be a real good test for 4LO and A-TRAC/Lockers. There's also a squeeze area right there with some tall rocks that you have to carefully 4LO over. Fun stuff.

Anza, Borrego Springs & Ocotillo are all awesome! Enjoy and welcome back to CA!

Yea I plan on removing it after I get a tire swingout made. What a pain in the ass it was to get that recon sticker though.

There are plenty of trucks on here better than mine. I don't even have lockers yet! Soon though, soon!

    Thanks!

You can see how deep the water got in this picture. Above the tire on the drivers side.

They held up very well. One spot on the passenger side let in just a little water. Nothing bad though.

I drove it through the ocean. That's how I got it to California from Hawaii! J/k. It has a couple uses. One is the obvious of keeping water from entering the intake on deep water crossings. If you take a look at some of the pictures, you can see that I have done some successful deep water crossings. On one I rolled down the window and could easily dip my hand in the water.

The other is for dusty environments. I am looking at buying a Pre-cleaner for really dusty environments.

Also the air coming into the intake is just above the air temperature outside so the cooler air is a good thing.

I had somebody ask me if it was the exhaust the other day. 75% of the questions I have about the truck is about the snorkel. My wife calls it the dorkel.
