    @Kilo Charlie

    I bought a bag of dried pineapple from Costco about 2 years ago and it lasted all of about 2 hours because everyone loved it. The price has jumped up A LOT so I figured I'd give it a try myself with a $3 pineapple.

    My air fryer is set to 130.

    I wasn't aware they went that low.. but totally in for the results! How did you cut it up? Slices? Chunks?

    My air fryer also has a dehydrate option so that might be why a dedicated air fryer maybe doesn't go that low.

    They are cut into about 1/4" (maybe more like 3/8") slices.

    I maybe should have chunked them but I have to have something to change for next time!

    Still in for the results!

    I've never dehydrated anything so this should be interesting.

    I've dehydrated so many things.. the only real failure I had was dehydrating bacon in an attempt to make bacon salt.

    Fruits and vegetables are the most common for me especially when I was making my own rubs and wanted things like Jalapeño Powder or Habanero Powder etc.

    I have a dehydrator but I only use it for drying wet polished spent brass :anonymous:

    SO........these posts inspired me..........stuck a thermocouple in my AF. Ran for awhile holds right at 134°F on the "LOW" setting. I had no idea. Problem is, it has only a 60 minute on timer...........PITA to use to actually dry much~:angrygirl::cool:

    Id make a holder with flat piece of metal with a slot to stop dial switch from turning or drill a hole at the marker of the knob, and use a piece of coat hanger to stop it from turning. Wedge it between the gap above the door. If that makes sense...

    Might be easier to just buy a dehydrator for like $25 and not break your air fryer

    The recipe I'm using said 130 for 5 hours but they were nowhere near done. I doubt it will help much but I put them back in for another 2 hours.

    Another recipe said 120 for 12 hours which is looking like that's probably more in line with what it will need.

    Seven hours didn't do it. I put them back in for another 4.

    Maybe it is cheaper to just bite the bullet and buy the bag from Costco. :rofl:
