Five burners? Nice! Is the oven self-cleaning?

We will be installing a 4' viking propane with two wall ovens and a microwave. Right now we have a cooktop and single wall oven

Yeah, we used that feature once. I think most new ones are "self cleaning"

Most are, but the super-frugal can still buy one that isn't self-cleaning; I saw these at at Home Depot the other day, and none of them are self-cleaning...

And I'm assuming that it is self-cleaning?

I've been inside a lot of houses in the last 20 years or so, belonging to friends and family, and I would say that General Electric is probably the most popular brand of kitchen appliance. My parents' current house has GE appliances, and their townhouse in Furlong slightly higher-end GE Profile appliances. That said, GE has 11 different electric ranges currently available that are not only self-cleaning; 3 of them are smoothtop while the rest are coil; GE has roughly the same number of gas standard-clean ovens available...

Another little-known fact is that self-cleaning ovens have more insulation than standard-clean ovens. Even if you don't use the self-cleaning function during the entire time you have the oven, you are better off getting self-clean because if you cook something in the summer, that standard-clean oven will heat up your house and make the A/C work harder...

On another note, about the coolest stove I've ever seen is the Maytag Gemini range. My aunt and uncle had one installed in their old house when they redid the kitchen in 2002-2003. Their house only has electric and no gas, and they didn't feel like spending money running a propane line. Anyway, the range has dual ovens, the bottom normal sized and the top one smaller, for cooking frozen pizzas and stuff. The big oven on that particular model is convection and both are self-cleaning. Now, pretty much every major manufacturer makes these double oven ranges with both gas an electric burners, but back in the early 2000s Maytag was the only one. If you want two ovens and a microwave, but don't have the space for a cooktop and separate wall ovens, then one of these is certainly the way to go!

KitchenAid makes great mixers, and their appliances are well-built, but KitchenAid was on the list of most repair-prone brands the last time I read Consumer Reports. The last house my parents owned and the one they own now have GE appliances, we've had good luck. This woman who used to pay me to walk her dog has a house that built in 1967 or 1968, and the original GE self-cleaning wall oven lasted more than forty years before dying! My friend's house was built in 1958 and the kitchen got new countertops at some point prior to her and her husband buying it, but it has the original electric cooktop and wall oven from when the house was built that both still work great!

We had a kitchenaide stove in Md when we redid the kitchen. That particular model was prone to issues. We sprayed glass cleaner on the screen about a month after buying it and control panel shorted out...luckily was still covered under warranty but it was a pain in the ass to get them to pay it

I don’t have any idea what brand mine is.
I don’t cook much. The oven might not even work. The microwave is my main cooking appliances.

I hate to admit it, but about 10 years ago after watching an infomercial for a Nuwave oven l bought one. It actually is quite useful and does a good job at cooking all sorts of foods. Plus it doesnt heat up the kitchen in the middle of Summer like the regular oven does.

The stovetop in my parents house is older than you are, Charlie.
