I just picked up a Tacoma and sorting through it. Last week I replaced the blower, resister and wiring harness.

Today, I replaced the cracked windshield and one of the amber side markers.

new tires arrived today. Will get them mounted one I get the TPMS sensors I ordered online.

It was a Black Friday Best Buy TotalTech member deal. Regular $329 was $100 with free installation. Bought 3 of them. Brand is compustar without alarm. Big fan of the $200 annual TotalTech membership. Killer perks. Free deliveries and installations for TV's, RING doorbells, dishwashers, double warranties, free computer tune ups, etc. plus special sale prices.

Please excuse the time lapse in answering your question. I'm in AZ and have been on and off the grid.

Without saying exactly where I put it, I'll say this. I used a water proof switch so that should tell you it's not in the cab of the truck. It's out of plain sight, but still accessable with just a little reach and effort. It's also out of any direct "line of fire" from rain, mud or any road debris.

There's several places (front and back) that can accommodate the switch I used.

Hope this helps and that you understand why I didn't want to disclose the exact location.

Finished up these liners I made out of 1/4 abs. They are rock solid. Good solution for having cut my fenders.

I'd like to see some more pics. Not sure if you sealed the edges. You can use 3m window weld. Use an ice cube to smooth it out and make it look good

No i havent sealed them. I mainly just wanted to clean it up and make the bulk of the mud and just not fo up into the fender and engine compartment. I might look into it down the road. I took so 1/2 angle brackets and bolted them to truck and then bolted the abs to that. I used a heat gun to shape the abs to the fender. Once it was in place its rock solid. Like i was surprised at how rigid it is with only 3 bolts holding it in.

Last time I buy an aftermarket radiator.

Transmission ended up being 2 quarts low.

That sucks. Good reason to completely bypass the radiator and install a large transmission cooler.

Umm, no. Coolant is used to heat up the trans fluid to operating temp. There is such a thing as running it too cold

Duh, yeah, that's why the good ones have a bypass to heat the fluid to operating temps.

I have used transmission coolers, bypassing radiators, on some vehicles, with zero issues. One was a Tacoma that I personally drove over 100k miles with the radiator bypassed. Never had a single problem with that transmission.

What Is trying to say…I think…is that in cold areas, it takes a while for your transmission to warm up.
Like me…when I wake up, it’s 32 degrees outside. So as I’m driving, the engine is warming up, and warming up the tranny fluid as well. So my transmion heats up more quickly.

if you bypass the radiator, then it will take a longer time to heat up your transmission.

I’m all for getting up to operating temps as soon as possible as well.
