I was thinking about diesel owners the other day as I drove by that bucees where diesel was $4 and gas was 2.60. Gotta love how gas and diesel seem to follow thier own price curves.

Not sure if I'd recommend them. In the spring I had them seal my timing cover back up (known 4.0 leakage issue), then while it was there I had them replace a U-joint and do a drain and fill on the tranny. Right after I got it back I noticed that it was making a nasty driveline noise and was giving me some vibration. Took it back and he wouldn't look at it at all until I had the tires/wheels balanced. Annoyed me since it was fine going into his shop, then not right after. I got a balance done, no change. I'd kind of lost confidence in him as he didn't want to originally replace the u-joint anyway since "they all do that" (vibrate on speed up), didn't really want to listen to the guy who's owned the truck for 13+ years, btw, original u-joint was trashed as I looked at it after removal. Took it to another shop and they found that there was two seals on one side of the joint, none on the other and some rollers were missing, all on a new u-joint. Other shop replaced it and noise/vibes were gone.

After a month or two I then noticed that the tranny would slip when going around a downhill corner. Checked the fluid level and it was over a qt low.

I now am seeing some indications that the cover is leaking again, appears like it anyway. Going to need to clean it off and give it a bit more time to verify.

Anyway, questionable place to me and unlikely I would go back.

They aren’t super popular currently. It’s been sitting in my garage a few years and I thought I had lost the brackets but recently found them while clearing out the garage.

I've only used them once because I was lazy. Dropped my son truck off there told him the symptoms. He said throttle body needs a deep cleaning and replace a sensor. Got the truck back and he said one of your pulleys is going out? over night? Wrong, the throttle body gasket wasn't put on right. So it would squeal so loud at idle. I took it to my shop, went to get another gasket and changed in front of him. Then drove it around my shop making sure he sees its not making any noises.

So I did the valve gasket cover myself last Saturday. Wasn’t too bad. Only $17 for the gasket and a couple of hours.

For the struts, I’ve been quoted $800 for the 4 struts and $500 for labor. I’m trying to find cheaper struts that aren’t Chinese made crap.

That sounds high AF, if you’ve got the time and tools I’m sure YouTube will show you everything you need. I just changed my struts and shocks on my scion and it only took a few hours taking my time and installing the trd springs. It was really easy to do as well.

Oh, I don't use those apps. They tend to give you discounts at higher price stations. So basically giving you your money back. Not saving money, that way you can spend more money at thier station or other places
