How's the snow up there? Thinking about bringing the family up for a Saturday and playing in the weird white stuff. Should we wait another weekend?

No snow currently. Its cloudy and we are supposed to see rain and wet snow later this afternoon. Monday we are getting around 1-1/2" of snow in showlow. If you head up around sunrise you can probably play in it this weekend. Wont be much tho. I think the next weekend would be a better shot up there to have anything of substance.

Edit: Yeah just looked at Greer and monday they are looking at 3.6" and staying in freezing temps all week so that will hang out. I think the 17th would be the better chance for you guys.

How do you think I was getting up the mountain? It's not a safe time of year for the X up there.

That's just off the rim road, but we checked out a bunch of tiny roads just south of Heber. Mostly off of the 86 near black canyon lake

I saw a bit of snow on a hike in the hills today. Will likely burn off by the weekend though.

    Good Looking tree.

I was too late to get a permit in Coconino NF, but Lucked out and snagged one in the Williams Kaibab

Next year I need to not be a slacker so I can get a permit for my own backyard.

(We picked a taller tree and limbed it, so that I didnt have to roll around on the ground and the little guy didnt get pocked by pine needles)

I thought I would follow up, I talked to a nice man who lives beyond the bridge. He gave me an alternate rout that goes around the bridge and recommended using it.
