I’ll cut my teeth on a professionally built bouncer. Won’t bother me a bit! From what I’ve gathered from folks that have wheeled all their life, bouncers are a total different beast anyway. I’m sure a lot translates, but again apples and oranges.

One thing that does appeal to me about BK is they aren’t one trick ponies made for just hill killing. They obviously aren’t crawlers, but it’s a little more well rounded if you’ve seen some of the Johnson valley videos.

3-link 3rd gen 4Runner here, so my numbers should be close. 14" Fox 2.5 coilovers, 14" 150 / 16" 250, set up notes from Accutune say 1.4" of preload, and 1" dual rate nut to slider distance. Still building it so I can't tell you how well it performs.

You got a build thread? I’ll be heading down this road in the next year on a 3rd gen runner if plans come to fruition.

I'm running 14x2.5 CO - 14"x3.0"x175lbs top spring and 16"x3.0"x250lbs bottom spring with 1" preload and 5" shaft showing with full truck weight.

Can't really compare build to build as top/bottom mount varies between vehicles.

Yes, but that was all while it was still IFS, but you can read my last post ( ) to see my plans. Still in the early stages, I'll start a new build thread soon.

150 over 250 for me on 2.5x14 fox coilovers. Preload maybe 1/4-1/2 once it touches the spring.

For the second gen folks- are you rebuilding the stock trans crossmember? Looks like the driveshaft would make contact at full droop

I did have to make a new crossmember for mine to avoid the front shaft and links.

Yeah it’s worthless in the condition it’s in. I’m going to finish it out. Not going to worry about a cage or crawlbox just yet. Just one thing at a time so I can get through it.
