    I was born in 1989...

My friend Doug's parents' house was built in 1987 and the kitchen has been sort of renovated. The countertops were replaced sometime in the 1990s after they bought the place in 1995, and the dishwasher was definitely replaced, but the house still has the original drop-in electric range from 1987. The thing has the ugly coil burners, but they all the work, and the oven has a self-cleaning oven that still works. Not only is this thing 35 years old, but it gets used, like A LOT; Doug is a baker who is presently in college studying to become a culinary arts teacher. Doug's range is like a mint 1987 Toyota pickup with over 500K miles. It just won't die.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
We replaced our upright freezer with a Kenmore and the basement fridge with a Frigidaire after a flood incident killed them. The Kenmore had a bad door from the factory and was returned under an RMA because they "didn't have a service tech in the area to do warranty work". The Frigidaire defrost quit working after 8 months. We fought to get them to repair it under warranty. They actually had a local guy. It's been working fine ever since.

When we sold her house, the new buyers wanted our fridge. They offered us $2500 to leave it with the house. It was an eleven year old Kitchenaid. We never had any problems with it. In fact the only thing KitchenAid that we had that I didn't was the microwave. The turntable was noisy.

And I wouldn't wipe my ass with Consumer Reports.

I heard somewhere that an air fryer is just a compact countertop convection oven. I've never used an air fryer, but my new oven is a convection oven. I haven't used convection mode much yet, but I am curious to try an 'air fryer' recipe in it to see how it turns out.

You are correct. It's basically forced hot air. Try cooking french fries in it.

We have Kenmore Elite refrigerator (ok), Whirlpool microwave (shit), Whirlpool oven (once this is replaced, we will go all Office Space on that POS), Bosch dishwasher (very nice), GE 6 burner gas range top with a Broan hood (nice).

    Beer fridge is a Kenmore.

So, these lights are supposed to be either steady colored, steady white, or alternate between colored and white. A few days ago, coworker noticed that there was some exposed wiring and said I should tape it up; I forgot to do this, and the lights still turn on, but now they only work in "steady white" mode. This isn't particularly heartbreaking, because this is set is a few years old and not one of the new ones I bought right before Thanksgiving...

This set is older and got some water in the battery box. It works but only stays on for a few seconds; I was going to let it dry and out and try to use it again, but I accidentally tore (not cut, but actually tore) a wire while removing it from the truck. Now it not only won't stay on, but several of the lights don't work at all now...

    :annoyed:

I was removing shorted out Christmas light sets, and the woman with the phone in these two photos complimented my truck as she walked by my house; I invited her into the driveway for a closer look, and we got to talking. The guy with guitar and the Christmas light necklace, and who I'm presuming is his wife, showed up while I was talking to the first woman. They are from the Philippines and were singing Christmas carols in exchange for money to be donated to help victims of the typhoon in their home country. They sang Jingle Bells for us, and I put five bucks in their donation box. The guitarist told me that they'd heard my stereo blasting Christmas music when they were in their own neighborhood across the street from mine, saw my truck, and had been hoping to see my truck up close. They performed for two of my neighbors on the culdesac and got more money from them, too!

My stove, microwave, and fridge are LG. Dishwasher is Fridgidaire.

I remember my previous place had a Fridgidaire dishwasher and a Whirlpool refrigerator, because it amused me that the dishwasher brand sounds like a refrigerator and the refrigerator brand sounds like a dishwasher.

My kitchen range is propane, built in the 70's by the Hardwick Stove Co of Cleveland, Tennessee.
I like it because 1) it works 2) it is paid for.

I bet in any of those 3, but if I had to guess where first I'll stab and say Camry..whether you remember it or not. Radio played the shit out of that song back when it first came out.

Fun (or not so fun) fact, I was almost at the Station the night that tragedy happened. Still gives me the chills.

That said, I think we can agree on one thing Charlie. That shit sounded good in my truck when you were here.

Dude. That is some seriously good shit right there. Those picture discs I reckon are worth some coin.

I just FINALLY got to see W.A.S.P. live several weeks ago, been a fan since the mid 80s

The white one is pretty much what we have, minor visual differences and ours is self-cleaning. Got in 2007..the one here when we moved in was a POS. I want to say it's a Kenmore..

I just know that my work was offering overtime Saturday and double time plus a half Sunday one weekend, up to 8 hours each day. I looked at her and said "no day off in 2 weeks will suck, but I'll do it and we go oven shopping when that check hits the bank". She picked what she wanted since she cooks.

Band was never a huge favorite as far as longevity. Definitely caught my ear at first but nothing that stuck with me, I know I never had anything by them on CD. I didn't get a CD player until 1988-89 and bought both for a while until going all disc in 1994-5.

Song..once in a while yeah. I can't listen to Desert Moon since the fire though, makes me cringe..that's what they were playing when shit went down.

I've cranked Desert Moon in my truck before. It's a great song; I've seen the video of the fire starting though...
