Yep, Mr Mike hit it. You'll be fine to limp around with that tire as a spare for a short time. Honestly, the only time I really worry about having a spare is if I'm going on a trip and/or more than 100 miles from home, and it's just backup in case of a blowout. Proper tire and alignment maintenance (and quality tires) will help prevent that. Sidewall gashes.... that depends on the curb height at starf*cks, crazy ex-girlfriends, or an actual wheeling experience. But for the other 92% of time, a plug kit and a compressor will get you where you're going.

Are there any good alignment shops in the Knoxville area that know tacomas? I had a alignment a few months back and the truck still drives good, but I have changed out the inner and outer tie rod ends and adjusted the lift a few turns. Free service tire did the alignment and ever since I rub the cab mount pretty easily. Not real sure the lift height but I’m guessing 2.5”/1.5” with 285/75-17 -10 offset. Front is icon extended travel 600# coils (1 3/4” threads showing) and icon add a leaf in the rear. Yes it has a cmc as well. Thanks

Look up “eurospec” and have Doug Smith do it. He’s east TN’s alignment guy for everything. He worked at Firestone in Alcoa for ever, and used to do my alignment. Eurospec pretty much poached him just to do alignments. There’s people all over the east coast that bring cars 3+ hours to him just for an alignment.

I found a wheel for cheap clearance on TireRack. You wanna mount the tire for me?
Discount won't do it because tire age is a liability they say  but I didn't check any small shops.

How old is the tire? They shouldn’t mind if it’s less than 10yrs old

Dont know about Tacoma fitments but tirerack has a number of wheels on clearance for cheap that fit Tundra with good offset for bigger tire to clear. Wheel i just got for a spare was under $140 and included lugs. Weren't many in stock on the cheapest ones though.

wasn't there someone in here living out in Sparta?
I was there the other day. Liked the area.

That little triangle of Cookeville, Crossville, & Sparta seemed like it had a lot of people but not much industry. What do they all do for work out there?
