What will suck is matching the rest of the truck if not a full respray

 

Yeah at altitude I would recommend going to the next deeper set than the calc recommends. At least on Toyota 4cyls, 3.0/3.4s.

the 2nd gen V6 has more move

 

A good shop will blend it well. I'm very grateful the Ford looks like new after they resprayed the bedside and blended it. Even got the metal flake right lol

 

People tell me they're gonna run 4.88s with 35s on a 1st gen and I'm like "uhhhh good luck!!!"

 

I run 4.10 on 35s

 

Saw another fallen brother on the way to work today - 1st gen on the side of the road doing the LBJ lean. Seeing that more and more lately it feels like.

i mean, I get it,, I ran 35s with 3.90s LOL

4th and 5th gear were rare. I didn't break anything on those gears either LOL not enough torque to the CVs

 

yea idling to warm up can eat up a lot of fuel lol

 

And boost but yeah.

Na it was rough in 5th loaded down. No issues with boost and now that it's not an overland truck it's quite spry.

At this point I’m pretty sure I’m going to just bite the bullet and fix that whole sides small inconsistencies… the bent cab corner, the hood is bent, core supports a little off on the left side.. the door on the truck was starting to crack because it bounces when hitting large bumps

 

Yeah and honestly 4.56 will be a good move if I decide to R150F swap my 04 in the future. If this A340F dies I refuse to get another. But there are people that swear with the auto you need 5.29s regardless of tire size.

 

I hear that. I did the same for the 6.0l. plus it had bad stiction so if I didn't get temps above 110 or so it would stick injectors open and blow white smoke lol

The 6.7 will take like an hour of idle to defrost so i never do lol. The cooling systems are fucking huge

Have you wired up a high idle switch yet?

 

It will automatically high idle after a few seconds on a cold start and sit at 1100rpm I would guess. I also have a PTO controller where I can set the idle where I want on the controller and let it go. I don't really use it for cold starts since I assume that the high idle it does already was designed by someone who knows better than me. The PTO controller is nice for winching I assume.

I haven't noticed any smoke and a week sitting outside where temps are below freezing, 22* this am and once cycle of the plugs and it fires up easy. She is a pretty healthy 7.3.
