You're full of shit most of the time, so my confidence in you predicting what people will want in 2040 is pretty low.

You need to put your thinking cap on.

More and more apartment complexes are installing charging stations for their tenants in the parking lots or parking garages. More and more employers are installing charing stations.

I can see that, and as a second vehicle it probably makes sense for a lot of people, I like the freedom to travel too much to rely solely on a electric vehicle. I put 20K a year on my trucks on average and I don't have a daily commute, almost all mileage is from long trips.

Don't believe it. There's always that long list of things you posted. I don't believe it, never will.

I have never had a vehicle that needed the brakes replaced. Never put that many miles on them, and got rid of them before needed brakes. I don't think that has saved me any money.

You don't have to change the oil even tho you should.

EVs do not save you money in operation costs.

There's never been a study showing that as fact.

Same I think they make sense as a city car/commuter. I too put around 20k on my taco per year. I will most likely buy a 4th gen gas taco as my road tripper, toy hauler and offoroader. I still think ICE has a place for that.

Lol just read thru this ….confusing thread. Op is a huge troll.

Reason for less cars sold….is cause less cars were made Worldwide…..

and as far as the ev trucks taking over the market….I can afford a Tacoma at msrp…I can’t afford a f150 lighting or a rivian. Lol

It’s not cheaper where I’m at. My Tacoma averaged right about $3.50/gal over the time I owned it or $74/tank empty to full. In order for a Tacoma to be cheaper than a home charged EV the gas would have to cost $0.66/gal and we know we will never see those prices again. Cost per mile on the Tacoma was $0.30/mile, the R1T is sitting at $0.07/mile. Given the price difference it’s not a short term breakeven type scenario but I didn’t buy it with that as a consideration at all.

I don't want an EV or an EV truck.

Inventory is down because sales are down. Fleet sales haven't fallen across the board, and those builds take priority, because those customers are still purchasing vehicles.

I warped my rotors at 50k. On my third set
Lol why do you even drive a Tacoma if you don’t put enough miles on them to even do a break job? The whole point of these trucks is low cost of ownership on the backend. Also you do need to change the oil unless you get rid of your cars before 10k-15k miles, at which point you are not saving money. You save money buy owning a vehicle outright and keeping it as long as possible.

Sales are down because there is no inventory. Not the other way around.

Manufacturers are going to build what sells. If the manufacturer isn't building s specific vehicles it's because they don't believe there is a customer for that vehicle.

That's why people had to prepurchase their Toyota truck during 21 & 22.

Fleet sales have increased in 22 over 21.

Tacoma sales have decreased during that same time.

If manufacturers of fleet vehicles can build and deliver vehicles that do have extensive lead times. Why can't Toyota build and deliver Tacomas?

By the time this thread has run it's course, we'll be in a recession and OP will be right, "no demand" like the boy who cried wolf.
Just drove by a local TOYOTA stealership today and it had a few Tacos up front, more than in the past few years.

I can't advocate for any of GM's new vehicles. Junk quality. The front end made me think of this though...

Was driving in another city to get a part for my snowblower and passed a bunch of car dealers including a toyota one...saw at least a dozen new tacoma's on the lot. I doubt any were already sold.
