Never tried to actually. All my other cars have a cap holder so it’s just second nature. Plus I like things to have a place.

Not op, but here in NJ I can't pump my own gas. Without the holder the attendant just lets it sit on the side of the truck.

Accumulator delete. Fortunately I didn't have my truck long before discovering that one. Thank God.

SLEE 2nd Gen Tacoma power steering reservoir mount (I’m using an ARB single), got some SS lines and fitting off Amazon and mounted it like so:

I don’t have to pop my hood to use it, which is great cause some places where I offroad the terrain is hella crazy and I’d rather not slip trying to pop my hood.
Also, opted out of the radiator support mount cause it’ll hinder airflow to the radiator

    I like the tire set-up.

Recently added BushWacker Fender Flares and I'm considering gold wheels to go with outsized tires.

Something like what you got is of interest to me.

As soon as I got the truck that's where it made the most sense to me. The gas cap holders are really neat, don't get me wrong, but I don't see the "OMG WE MUST DO THIS FIRST" mentality that some people have when the prongs are a logical solution. My STi's solution was a tab to rest the gas cap strap on which was super shaky and it would regularly bang into the car. My soul died a little more every time I bumped it.

I have a good friend who lives in NJ just south of Philly and when I visit him I always make sure to get gas at the absolutely furthest south part of NY I can before I cross into NJ and then limp back into NY to refuel. I still remember the first time he visited me and had no clue how to refuel his car. I had to show him how it worked. What's funny is that in MA there are certain towns that still have laws against pumping your own fuel, like the town I work in. I end up having to make sure I'm never low on gas during the week so I can get across the town line.

why? Gas is way cheaper in NJ. Just because of the cap?

    Yep.

I don't mind paying the differential to not have the doofus drop the cap into my truck, or top off the tank. I saw one attendant with my friend using the nozzle of the pump to close the fuel door of a car he filled up.
