In general, places like Amazon and ebay have a lot of fraudulent counterfeit parts floating around, spark plugs are a good example lately.

Your choice looks legit, but if anything is wrong, a return is a hassle. Just my 2c.

Rock auto doesn't have NSK or Koyo but it does have Timken, which is ok, but the seal, retainer, clip and oring are typically OEM dealer only.

Shit's expensive. So 500$ is good, just slight risk with Ebay is all.

I understand. Im trying to look up all the minor parts on toyota parts website now to see if I can buy from there. autohausAZ has the bearings for 116 each so may be better that way.

napa has some that say koyo but part numbers are different. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/ATM2122451?impressionRank=1

Well, the wheel bearings are outside the axle seals so any metal pieces you might find in your gear lube are probably from your diff/gears

I think im gonna order all the retainers gaskets and seals from shop toyota. Only like $106 shipped to my house.
Now to decide on where to get the bearings for sure autohausAZ looks promising for koyo at $116 a piece. I need to check on my discount on the napa ones that says they are koyo as well.

I’ve also found that Timken doesn’t make the bearing they are probably a koyo bearing.

Im probably gonna get the ATM from napa. it is a koyo bearing. just have to call in the morning to see what my discount is on them.

still torn on to do one or both. at 69k miles i will probably just do 1 side. Im trying to build a house and im a volunteer firefighter so money is tight but I need my truck.

1 side should be all you need, I’ve seen guys say the rears have lasted 150k+ miles. Unless you’ve been driving through a swamp the whole time your other side is good. I would pull the shaft and check the condition of the seal though.

just this fellows honest opinion here, and up to you with how much down time you can afford but my local dealer told me they don’t even do the press work on the rear bearing they farm it out a local machine shop, so you’re paying middle man there to just leave your truck on the lift and take the rear axle shaft off the housing. Here’s a confirmation the OEM bearing removed is Koyo and the new Timken bearing is indeed still a Koyo FWIW

that I’m not sure of. I’ve had good luck with their wheel seals for various applications. What I found interesting is that the Timken rear bearings for my 2014 accord when I replaced them they were actually NTN and the NTN were what came off my Honda from the factory.

I'd just do the 1 but try to figure out why it failed. Lack of grease from factory? Grease being gone is about the only thing that can kill one. You said oil was good looking so it prob. rules out water wash out. Stopped up vent? It'll kill another if you don't fix. Overloaded? Never seen that happen but maybe?

For decades Timken was the name in wheel bearings, so popular than many old time mechanics called all tapered roller bearings "Timken bearings" no matter what brand.

This ad from 1905 shows a wooden wheel.
