I was able to get a few of these MR2s a while back at the Dollar General. One with lights up and others with lights down.

 

There's actually 6 versions of this that I know of. 2 Blue, 2 Red and 2 White.. all Matchbox. Then of course the one I posted earlier today.

The differences are the headlights. 1 version the headlights are up and the other version the headlights are down

 

Found this one on Amazon a while back.
It doesn't match my real one though. (darn it!)

 

Yeah I've got a few of the MK4 Supras but since I own a MK3 I prefer those. I've got 4 MK3 diecast but I'd love some more

 

Reminds me of the 68 custom vw. The Hong Kong version had headlights that were part of the chassis and stuck through the fenders. US version the headlights were painted on.

 

Seen it all today at my local Walmart. As they were finishing stocking the Hot Wheels and Matchbox displays there was already a guy there with his shopping cart. When I walked up he pushed it in my way leaning on it as he finished picking through the display so I couldn't get close enough to see what was there. When he finished he moved down to the M2s and did the same thing there. A Walmart employee walked by and he then asked him to get somebody who was in back. That individual came out and proceeded to pull out his scanner and he looked up the next shipments coming in for this guy. The guy was even specific as to what was coming in on those shipments and the employee apparently was able to look that up as well. If its not the employees in back then its clowns like this who are cleaning out the stores in my area. He had a pretty decent haul in the cart including a couple Hot Wheels VW panels I had never seen before along with several of those light blue Chevy pick ups someone posted the other day. I didn't see what else he had. When I walked away he was still talking to the employee.
I don't waste my time anymore going into stores to specifically look. If I'm there for something else ill look. Thank goodness for the internet and yard sales.

I got the materials to do this job today, going to try to tackle it when I have some downtime before or right after christmas.

(2) $4 rolls 40” of command double sided tape

(4) $4 double sided plastic strips

(3) $4 end cap plastic strips

Total $36 and change

 

Anyone remember the old Micro Machines? Recently pulled mine out of a box. Had for gotten all about them ha ha.

I would like to do this for the normal cards but I have a few (a lot ) that have nice art work on them. The other problem is they are not all the same widths. Waiting to get that room so I can figure it all out.

 

Not at work today but Monday I will post a picture of one that is stuck to the ceiling at my work. It has a magnet on the bottom and is stuck on the tracks that hold the tiles. Been up there 20+ years and every few years someone moves it to another part of the ceiling. Think I may have posted it on here years ago.

 

Found it. Thought this thing was glued up there until someone pointed out to me it had moved. Whenever new people come in and see it they ask why it’s up there and I always say I never noticed it.

my plan is, since the strips i bought are 8’ long, when I cut them down to say, 4 or 5’ in length, i’ll take the remaining scraps and make a short display for signature series, johnny lightnings, and any other odd sizes
