I think without going to a shell or cover thats going to be your only bet. The inverter wont have a problem under the seat. Maybe move the fuse block and others to under the DS and then you only have to find a place for the battery.

See and I have a shell, but it doesn't stay on the truck all the time. I use it for work and usually need the bed space. I'll end up running some long ass battery cables to custom battery box i wanna install under the bed in the rear. Inverter on a panel mounted to the seat hardware and I've got the Auxbeam switch panel with breaker under the hood. This is why a build is never "done"!
Need to start a build page to dump all my pics and projects. Give you all somethings to laugh at

I put mine in a Dewalt toolbox, but does not charge from the alternator. I went the cheap route for the battery, way smaller inverter (your desired loads will determine this) and have 300 watts of solar. I went Victron for all the interconnectedness and I attend an informercial/training at N. AZ Wind and Sun for Victron. At this point, look at the cheapest will prowse recommended battery and build the components off that. I have had great success with batterycablesusa.com for all the large gauge stuff. I'm also not planning a PanAmerican trip like @MR E30 so my reliability doesn't need to be quite as high.

Initially he said a 3000 watt inverter - that's like eating the most best Albuquerque Tortilla Factory pork adobada and saying you won't feel a thing tomorrow. You most certainly get to enjoy the spice twice!

@cookiedough Dang that's another great idea! Is your panel mounted on your rig, or self standing? This is a great option to save some space when it's not being used!

Well got the 3rd one today.

And they sent another pod. Same thing, and the guy "personally grabbed the product off the shelf for us". That's 3 now.

Yeah makes sense. The engine is usually running when the winch would be used anyhow. I really don't wanna move the control module and re route the cables. Lights, compressors, with a few auxiliary plug and maybe a fridge for the battery set-up.

I have both. I'm pulling a Hiker Trailer, so there are panels on the roof rack. The reason for the ground deploy is - shade. If I have the opportunity I put the camper in the shade, so I would need some to move out away from the camper. I like N. AZ and S. UT, so often shade isn't available. I did Rich Solar 100w panels. The battery box allows me to use the fridge (primary use case for me) in either road trip (truck only) mode or in the camper for lights and fridge.

Round 1 of black friday Tacoma purchases got installed this evening. Morimoto XB LED headlights. I cant stand chrome and headlights were the last piece of that puzzle on this truck. Cant wait to get a little driving time with them this week. I opted for the white DRLs and orange turn signals. Still torn between white and orange for the DRLs, oh well too late ha! The orange is so fucking bright as a turn signal/flasher I really like it. Anybody in the market for some 3rd gen projector/small LED DRL headlights? Maybe to practice BHLM or upgrade your SR/SR5 lights. Couple broken tabs, in decent shape for 100k miles. Ill put them in the classifieds. $Free.99 for AZ folks.

I need the drivers side. Mines completely busted. I work on campus now, so I can swing by after work one day. Just text me when.
