I may have hopped a curb on the way to work today to get around the plebs :anonymous: I did the same maneuver in the rabbit so that's not saying much haha

The ice spooks me. The slush and snow, not so much.

@Area51Runner The A340F on a 4Runner can be used interchangeably with a J-shift transfer case right? It currently has a push button case.

Don't see why not. The 340F I put in came out of a 99 AT Limited 4Runner (2-4 pushbutton). Mated up a 95 Taco tcase to it. Only thing I had to change on the transmission was the Park/Neutral Safety Switch (4runner has a different connector for it than the taco). Use the Tacoma switch. Everything else is the same.

Interesting, it was a Limited? I think the newer ones had the center diff lock or AWD or whatever. One of the last years of the 3rd Gen.

Only 2001-02 have the center lock.

I beg to differ. My 99 has the center diff lock.

    Multimode you mean.

Limited only, and a two-model year option.

I thought the multi mode on the limited was all-wheel drive with a center diff lock.

    Multimode is an option.

1996-2000 4Runners had a real 4HI/4LO setup only (unless specified like below).

1999-2000 4Runner Limited only; Toyota had offered the Multimode as an option, hence why there's so few of them. The only difference is that the push-button on that setup would enable "AWD" (labeled as 4WD) and really wasn't in 4HI until you physically moved the lever. Doing this would put you in 4HI the same way your Tacoma goes into 4HI.

Good to know. I love the AWD option. It feels a lot smoother in the slush to dry road and back that we get up here over the true 4hi.

Plus you're not limited to the 55mph speed limit like you are when shifting into 4HI.

I'm surprised I never said anything sooner. Guess I'm just that bored today.

Think I'll play some video games, got a few I haven't even touched like Control, Red Dead Redemption II, and even Battlefield 5.

I had BF5 since it came out and I never even played it.

Board days are good sometimes. We had a busy one today. Heartbeat ultrasound and follow-up (everything is going good) than had to move a truck and get a haircut. Looking forward to my lazy day off tomorrow.

Just wait until the claymation ultrasound. If it hasn't hit you by then, it gets REAL lightning quick. :D

Fun times. Happy for you and @Kwikvette + moms' to be (actually, they're already moms now). Enjoy!
