Patriotism has died. We are not a united people any more. We are a boiling melting pot trying not to offend anyone that comes into our country and demads that we change it to suit them.

Look they still say this in school, so that post is wrong! It's actually required in any school district that receives federal money. Now the reason that many are saying "i'm offended" is because of the use of "under god." You see you have a first admendment right not to be forced to follow any particular religion as stated here:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances"

Now that it is law that a student says "under god" in his allegiance to his country is technically forcing someone to follow a certain religion. When you look at the history of the pledge you will learn that not until the early 1950's did we say the words "under god" as we only placed it there in fear of the communist parties that were overtaking much of Asia and South America at the time. If you look the pledge was even written by a socialist pushing for a more socialist government.

... So with that said I don't really care if anyone says it or not. You want to show allegiance to american put a damn uniform on and serve. If you can't do that volunteer! But honestly you don't have to do it for any god as god doesn't care what goverment your from! He still will forgive you the same!

I'm not offended, its an ignorant post. I don't pledge allegiance to the flag at the beginning of work, but my kids do in school, so do my nieces and nephews.

You don't know us. You can't make a rash judgement like that. I won't get into the politics of it here though.

So what exactly are you trying to say? What's your real point? (Yeah I read nothing other than the first post of this thread....I can imagine what the 11 pages of posts say though....)
