Last night the thought did occur to wind my own on a smaller spool.

I just didn't want to invest in a large ass spool, especially if it might get used once or twice a year.

At home, I'm sticking with .035 solid wire and 75/25.

I'll have the extra welder running .035 as well but gas shielded flux, also using 75/25. That's what I plan to use the 75cf bottle for. Need to make a small cart with larger wheels but this will be my dedicated "weld away from home" setup since it's only a 115v machine.

She all cleaned up with new consumables and a new ground clamp as well.

I misread shit all the time on here; it's all the "WILL THESE FIT WITHOUT RUBBING" or "LOWER BALL JOINT, WILL IT FAIL" threads that spin my shit crazy

Using the hand torch for short cuts is much more forgiving than running it on a cnc plasma table where you expect clean, precise cuts. That's where you'll notice how bad moisture affects your work.

Kwikprofab!!! So funny, @02hilux just sent me a link to the smaller one. I was like its nice but I would like a bigger table. I saw the 4x3 and said hmmm. That thing is money for 2700. You are a lathe and mill away from full on machine shop.

I just need the thing to cut steel for now. I hate grinding!!!!!!Im done with it.

I considered the Pro, but space for me is the biggest enemy.

That and I'll really end up neglecting it for awhile once the baby comes.

I think that one is a good choice. I heard you can do 2 diff runs and get say an 8' project done, you just have to reset perfectly then start the run over. Thats what my friend does at least. I know shit about those things. I saw a kid build a cnc lathe on you tube the other day and it was mind blowing.

Grinder dust life. If you can't find it grind it.

Oh they sell an add-on for that, only $99 and it can be added at any time.

It's for repeatability if you're churning out production, but I won't so I didn't add it to my order.

Unless your air lines are very short (inches) from the compressor to the plasma machine you want the best filter mounted on the plasma machine.

To bad your so far way .

I have more wire then I will ever use.

The wire I use at home the most is .023 hard wire unless I get into some serious bucket rebuilding.

Then swap guns and drive rolls to .045 or larger.

I like my Profax guns better then the Miller Guns.

Enjoy your new table you will wonder how did I ever do anything before!!

    I'm confused.

Gas shielded flux core? Do you mean dual shield? Any time I used that we were welding some pretty stout iron. We were pushing some .045 with lots of amps.

Idk if those are even good but they will collect water. Im gonna put 2 at compressor then get whatever is recommended for a plasma and I guess it goes at the machine based on what you are saying. I have not even researched anything yet. Still waiting on machine.

Mine is 4.5 x 4.5. I wish it was no more than 3 x 3. It sucks up the space.

    I think a 2 x 4 would do 90% of what I do.

I made a bracket that allows the Motor Guard M-26 filter to sit on top of my Hypertherm Power Max 900

If you are getting serious, you need this.

I'm thinking hard about grabbing one. Need to find out if a 25% off coupon works with it.Screenshot_20221210-223219.jpg

No Motor Guard is just a Manufacture of filters .

I deal with plasma machines that can by hundreds of feet from the compressors at times.

Sometimes the air lines are run underground from another building.
