2.5" lift, all new chinese light plastics, led lights here and there... want to make a daily "overlander" modeled after "overland under budget"..
So i have an 03 double cab...and at first i just wanted to keep it simple, mild lift, some 285s, bumpers...then i fell into the rabbit hole. Im sure it would take me a while just to find the right parts given my location..but im interested in running a toyota straight axle(pickup). I understand the tcase drop issue and am wondering if theres a way to swap an earlier case in my truck? If theres a thread on this, can i get a link? Thanks

If I could figure out the question sure. To me it sounds like the OP wants to SAS and run dual cases. Plenty of options if that's the case.

Yes. You'll need a tacoma to rf1a adapter than run 2 rf1a crawl box. That'll put your truck in the p-drop

Hope your pocket is deep and heavy. Minimum cost for a SA tacoma will be in the ball part of $10k with leaf spring if you do the work yourself with minimum new parts.

Ive noticed prices have gone up since i did the 94.. think i came in at just under 2k for a doubled set from marlin in 07? And another 2k or so for the sas swap.. hard to remember, i didnt buy a kit at the time..just pieced it all together and fabbed parts myself as well..

Those days are gone. I fully built my 83 with with a 22ret with custom axles front and rear in 2006 for cheap.

Average turn key SA tacoma now will be in the 10s after all say and done.

Any of the TG or marlin trans to gear drive transfer case adapters are what you want.

If you want to save money on an SAS buy used parts.

As much as I hate TG, I would recommend TG over MC. The adapter MC sells now seems to be NEW OLD STOCK from inchworm. THEY LEAK because they're CLOCKABLE! But hey, that's the fun part of building a truck.

YES! Another TG hater finally seeing the light. I've probably said this 100 times but if Marlin had stock when I dual cased I would have went Marlin. They didn't. Not only did they not have any stock they couldn't even give me an approximation of when they would have stock. One call to TG and my adapters shipped the next day. In 5 years they never leaked and I had zero issues with the inferior Chinese made product.
