I just got home from my brothers place in Mineral County, W.Va. I experienced Murphys Law in its fullest this weekend. I hunted last weekend and it was buck or doe season. I passed on a few does last weekend knowing I would likely get a better shot. Went up this weekend for "doe only season". Buck season ended last Sunday. Tough to tell from these pictures but what you are looking at is a buck with 4 points on one side and the other was broken off, and the other picture is a tall but narrow racked 7 pointer. I could have shot either of these if they were legal. I saw some does but didnt get a shot I felt comfortable with. It was a nice weekend and I saw lots of wildlife. I got to spend some time in the woods with my nephew who I dont get to spend enough time with so that was nice. Got some mud on the Tacoma and enjoyed some away time. Back to the grind on Monday. I envy Dave a little more now.

Sucks you didn't get yourself a doe. I love being in the mountains and out in the woods. I was outside from 8am to 6:30pm today. I lent my buddy my wood splitter and helped him with his firewood chores then i took a little break and hit the trails on my property with his crf.

@Backdoc I can definitely relate to your brother. I bought my place in 2017 for weekend getaways. Wife & I dreaded Sundays because we had to return back to Baltimore. I'll be 49 next month, as I got older I needed more freedom that living in the city just couldn't provide. I made a good living working in the city and I consider myself financially smart with my money. I never needed a big house, new truck ect to feel comfortable or liked. Living here I now have the freedom to do whatever I want on my unrestricted land. No hoa or neighbors telling me I can or can't do something. Even tho I took a pay cut to move here I'm more happy now then I ever was before. As you get older you realize life is short, money & material things don't mean as much. That's why I invite my TW family to come up to camp, shoot, ride the trails, atv ect...because I know how important a break from society is for the soul.

Now that is a beautiful sight. Imagine if that was the normal price for gas right now. I think we'd all be much happier when it comes time to filling up the tank.
