Try a Crows Foot Socket on your torque wrench. You will need to run it 90 degrees to the axis of the torque wrench. If you run it in line it will add length to the torque wrench and increase the force. At 90 degrees it will be offset but at the correct torque spec.

    Crows Foot Socket example.

If I remember correctly there's one bolt holding that brake line in position if you take it out loosens enough where you can fit a socket in there just by just pressing the lines a little bit out of the way.

Or this… then you don’t need to buy a crow’s food socket set.

Great thanks! I'll give it another shot in the morning. Feeling around there it does seem like a single bolt.

I’ve seen your build thread and I’m in awe of what you’ve done/know about auto electric and being prepared. I’ve been skiing a lot already but destroyed my shoulder last week so I’ll be out of your way for a while.

How much weight do you carry? It’s my first winter with a truck but otherwise I’m quite used to CO winter roads (drive between Golden and to/around Summit County a lot, and occasionally to the western slope). I’d put the weight towards the tailgate for more leverage. Just have to leave room for the skis.

Installed a white noise machine when reversing. 95db was the quietest I can find so I covered the speaker with tape to make it half as loud.
mounted to frame with an inline fuse tapped to the red reverse wire. Just needs finishing to tidy up and put wire loom.

Right now I’ve got 240 lbs (4 x 60 lbs bags), but I’m thinking about adding more. When I hit Hoosier on Thursday morning it wasn’t bad on the way up the hill from Alma, but a skating rink headed down into Blue River. I just kept it in second gear and let people pass me at pullouts. Same story on Vail Pass, and in Glenwood Canyon. That said I was also running the stock Goodyear Wranglers, but it felt light in the backend. I’ve also run shell’s on most of my trucks which adds a couple hundred pounds. I just got some Wildpeak AT3’s so that will hopefully add some more traction. I’m also a proponent of taking your vehicle out to an empty parking lot and learning when and where it breaks free. Also rember 4wd will get you moving, but it ain’t gonna do squat to stop you in the ice and snow.

    Wheels and tires today!:woot:
Method 701’s Matte Black w/ Wildpeak AT3’s 265/75 R16’s. Best part… they don’t seem to have any rub, but I didn’t take them anywhere to stuff them yet. It was getting late and I wanted to get a few pics before it got dark. No lift, but they fill out the wheel wells better, and make the debadging look even better IMO.

My tire carrier is the bed of the truck. With a ratchet tie down. Underneath is bare so I can keep an eye on it.

I went all in and took off the TRD OR sticker in addition to the chrome. I always wanted to do the same to my ‘02, but she was a 13 year old truck when I got her. Paint/sun fade concern’s.

What does the white noise in reverse accomplish?

I believe it’s a sound to alert pedestrians a truck is backing up. I never heard it described as white noise. More like a beep beep alert.

Today I installed Baja Designs S2 LEDs in my Brute Force Fab rear bumper.

I was surprised at the flimsy connection:
    upload_2022-12-10_17-40-22.jpg

But that was easy to reinforce with wire loom tape:
    upload_2022-12-10_17-41-17.jpg

The wire harness took a little time. 12AWG is all I had on hand and overkill. Spit conduit with wire loom & wrapped in wire harness tape.
    upload_2022-12-10_17-43-17.jpg

I had already ran a wire from the cab to the bed for a relay and also connected to switches I installed in the bed. So I can turn on from the cab or the bed.

One more item to check off the list.

I like ditching the connector altogether and switching it to a Deutsch connector.
