Favorite Whiskey?

I enjoy this one in a toast to friends and colleagues lost on 9/11 with a fellow survivor.

I got a bottle for like $70 at total wine a year ago...Looks like demand/covid bumped it to $120..>GEEEZ....

Night out with the wife at a favorite local bar. As far as selection this is as good as you can possibly get in rural NC. The owner is a great guy and fun to chat with about the various bottles he’s tried.

Had a couple things for the first time. A Barrell that was 110+ proof (I’m very unfamiliar with this brand) and Cooper’s.

The Barrell was good with a little ice to open it up. The Cooper’s was excellent and the better of the two, for me.

 

Angel’s Envy or Buffalo Trace…which is better?

Value? Buffalo Trace.
Do you really like a port finish? Angel’s Envy.
Personal opinion, regardless of price? Buffalo Trace.

Your taste buds and wallet are the real guide. Easy enough to go to a bar and try side by side.

And finally I’m at a bar, and so far I’ve had a poor of Stagg jr (batch 17), weller full proof, and the EHT barrel proof, killer day

 

We all have our biases. I don't care for finished whiskies as a generality (exception: Wild Turkey Master's Keep One is a toasted barrel finish and is fucking amazing).

Thus, I am not an Angel's Envy fan. Of the two you list, I'll take the Buffalo Trace.

all awesome juice but I really wish I could buy 100 more of the EW single barrel. Only could grab 5 before they were gone

And yeah I’ve never really been a huge EW guy but for $30 and the fact that bottle will never be made again I had to grab it.
