    I mentioned Jack Harrison in the megapost being a one and done- a rookie with one flight who happened to walk on the moon for over three days.
    For those who might not know, Jack wasn’t the only rookie moon walker. All were designated Lunar Module Pilots (LMPs) whose role was to assist the CMR who was the actual LM pilot:
    Apollo 14 - Edgar Mitchell
    Apollo 15 - Jim Irwin
    Apollo 16 - Charlie Duke
    Apollo 17 - Jack Harrison

    Alan Bean was the LMP for Apollo 12, he was a rookie but went on to command a Skylab mission.

    Not only was it a ‘skip entry’, Orion went through a series of rolls, much like the Shuttle’s S-turns, to bleed off speed. They had the camera pointing out of the top hatch; absolutely wild to see.
