I went from South Carolina to Wyoming a couple times. 1600 miles, around 22-24 hours. It sucks but the hunting makes it worth it.

Used to drive from Naples FL to Baltimore in one go all the time when Mom and Dad lived in Columbia MD. Around 1,200 miles. It’s not bad, listen to your body, sometimes you have to stop, take a big long break and or nap.

Drove about hundred fifty miles to pick up a 4-month old golden retriever from a breeder. The drive was pretty much a straight shot but the puppy got car sick half way and vomited in the minivan. I would recommend making short stops every 30 minutes at first to get the puppy to acclimate to the drive. Maybe even ask the breeder not to feed it four or six hours prior to pick up.

There are lots of reasons a dog could be in a shelter, not all of them bad. Our rescue was surrendered because her family was moving to an apartment complex that didn't allow pets. We adopted her from our local no-kill shelter and she was great from day one. That was 9 years ago. She's definitely a part of the family and I can't imagine the house without her.

Dec 2008, started from San Diego, made it just passed Denver, 19 hours, 1100 miles, in my 1999 4Runner. Only stopped for fuel and restroom, ate fruit and crackers while driving. I took a 5 hour nap in the car, felt like 5 minutes.

Second longest trip was from Huston to Indianapolis, 16 hours straight, no meal stop.

I don't drink coffee on long trips, never had energy drinks in my life.

More Caffeine equals dehydration and piss stop. Neither it's good for you body, or wasting time stopping in between fill ups. Protein, Vitamins and electrolytes will keep you going.

No long drives in the tacoma yet, but i spent nearly the entire day driving back from northern quebec to connecticut in the middle of a blizzard towing a trailer with my tundra. Started out at 8am, it was snowing pretty good with icy roads. By the time i got home at nearly 3 am in the morning we had close to 20'' of snow here in connnecticut.

Many 24 hour and plus quam 24 hr. drives.

The craziest was Edmonton to Waterloo, Ontario straight no breaks in my beloved 75 civic hatchback that ran on only three cylinders. 2100 miles stopping for fuel only partly through the ash of Mt. St. Helens eruption. No air, could barely see through the ash. Blazing hot. With a horrible mouth infection from a botched wisdom tooth extraction. East of Janesville Wi, I remember entering a long bridge with a transport opposing in the distance and waking up after the passing the bridge. Remember being on the Loop in Chicago with $20 to get me home.

    Good times.

That drive would kill me now.

I did 900km this past winter in one day to get my dog to a specialist vet for emergency surgery.

Did it again four days later. I took him out to pee every gas stop.

I drove from Dover, DE to Alamogordo, NM back in 2013 to work for the Boeing Co and the QF-16 Drone Testing Program. (2K Miles)

I had a travel buddy but not a 4-legged kind. I purposely stopped in two cities:

    Knoxville, TN and OK City.

    Yes!

    Those are F-4s.

The QF-16s were replacing those flying bricks! lol

At my first duty station, Williams AFB, AZ, there were crew chiefs who worked at Supply (Logistics Squadron) that spoke of the maintenance on that aircraft.

They had T-37 (Tweets) & T-38s (Talons) when I worked there back in 1986.

800-1000 miles more times than I can count. If you aren’t used to longer distances, just stop every one to two hours and walk / stretch for like 10 minutes.

I’d usually just stop when I needed gas, hit the bathroom and grab some food. Otherwise I was usually moving. On occasion I may stop once between fuel stops.

In Sept did Aspen Co to upstate NY in 36 hours. It was hot as balls and my Tacoma was overheating and losing fluid the whole way. Once i got out of the high plans and the sun went down it started to cool off and I was able to drive all night and end up at I 84 TruckStop in Iowa. Stopped and sat down for a quick meal. Then drove all day to a Texas Roadhouse and had another sit-down meal. Then a quick 3-hour ride through the heart of the Adirondacks and I was home. 2035 miles. I would have made better time, but I had a dog and auto issues. I ended up driving 160 miles and stopping every two hours.

I don't go by miles, I go by hours behind the wheel. I'm done at 11 hours. Have sandwiches and water bottles handy, gas stops are a necessary delay.

Travel tip, give it water bottles to the flaggers at construction zones as you drive by.

About 1600 miles from NW GA to NW CO for a deer hunt. My BIL and I left GA at noon on Friday after he got off work and drove pretty much straight through swapping out driving and sleeping. We got to a camp set up by friends who left a few days earlier about 5PM GA time, 3 PM mountain time. That's about 29 hours. We both hit a wall about sunup along the KS/CO border on Saturday morning and took a 1 hour nap in a rest stop. Other than that we only stopped to eat, pee and get gas. We drove home the same way.

    Unassisted

From Grand Island NE to home. Just a hair under 1000 miles. I did all the driving, only stopping to eat, pee and get gas. We did take a long lunch break and ate at the Kansas City Cabelas. About 20 hours total.

from Orlando, FL to Ashville, NC. With 2 toddlers (3&2yo) and our friend that travel with us was 7.5 months pregnant, so plenty of restroom breaks and stretching legs. distance was not terrible, but due to the frequent stops it was about 12.5 hours. We did manage to leave FL before 7am super plus! we went up I75 and skipped Atlanta. Once in Ashv we went to Gatlinburg,TN and then once we returned, we went down the coast so I95.
