For those of you living in the Las Vegas area, what's your favorite casino? I have friends coming out to visit in a few months and would like to be able to take them to some good casinos. My personal favorite is Sunset Station. Seems you get more bang for your buck there.

    A few bolts are different.
not from vegas but my favorite is Ellis Island. The steak dinner special is the best in town.

I'll be in Vegas this weekend! :woot:

Staying at the Hard Rock. It's off the main strip but I've heard great things.

I work with the Wynn Las Vegas company and I may say our hotels are definitely topnotch, the best in town. If $$$$ is not an issue(we are one of the more pricey hotels) we have some of the best dining, entertainment, and night life las vegas has to offer. Dining: Botero at encore, or sw steakhouse have some of the best steaks. Nightlife: xs or tryst night club if you're into that kind of stuff are award winning clubs. Entertainment: le reve the show at the Wynn will blow you out of the water! Literally!

    Other hotels/casinos of interest:
    the Venetian
    Planet Hollywood
    The hard rock
    The bellagio
    The cosmopolitan
    City center
    Mandalay bay
    Red rock casino

I don't like casinos......so my favorite is Green Valley Ranch for The District area, since it has the outdoor shopping area that hosts different events and all the restaurants there are great. My favorite is Lucilles southern BBQ.

What types of things are you looking for? I prefer off strip myself, but always suggest visitors to check out the strip properties and downtown-Fremont Street.

My friends have been to Vegas many times before and have done the Strip. I am looking for more off-Strip places like you mentioned. BTW I think Lucille's is the best too! I'm going to have to take them there. Thanks for reminding me of that.

Welcome ...we also like the Elephant Bar and the Cheesecake Factory which is right across the street by the Whole Foods Market. Claim Jumper is one the other corner, went once and wasn't overly impressed given all the rave reviews.

We went to the M Resort for a get-together, it's nice so might be worth checking out.
