Please someone with knowledge clear this up for me. All the lift packages I see are promoting old man coil springs. I have just been told the 5100's do better with the OEM coils.
Could someone please shed some light on this for me.

    Thanks

5100 are intended to be used with OEM/stock coils.

Before I spend a bunch of money on suspension parts I always try to find someone who already has it and go for a ride.

Been rocking 5100's with stock TRD OR coils @ the 1.75in setting for 130k miles (on the 2nd set of shocks,1st set replaced at 100k)... no issues, rides nice gets right at the 1.75in of lift quoted, and put a 1/4in top plate spacer to help with lean.

I put dobinson springs on my 5100s. They have to say that they’re intended for OEM coils or else when something fails on an aftermarket coil they’ll get handed a bill. If you’re running aftermarket coils you just can’t add any preload and have to run the springs at the lowest settings. Mine still give me ~3” of lift.

    Yeah.
I think you can use them on 5100's, but you'd likely need the lower perch on the lowest ring since they are longer than OEM. Typically people use one of the other settings with OEM springs for a bit of preload and lift.

And I see that the question has been answered.

Yes 5100 are intended to be used with stock springs. You can use aftermarket lift springs but those are intended to be used at the lowest setting.

Depends if you're looking to maintain stock ride height or lift it, no?
