    I have a better question. How’d they get the loan? A building inspector would / should of seen all that. And at the very least have it corrected before the sale.

    It’s nearly impossible to buy a house these days with an inspection. On one house I offered 15 k more than others but had an inspection for information only.

    Inspection has never been required. As a capital R. I'm sure there might be loans where it's needed. But an as is cash sale, or as of late, waived inspection, not needed. I wouldn't play ball in that environment, buncha shenanigans.

    My co-worker went 100k over and lost on a house. The house he ultimately bought went inspection free. He had bids in on so many houses when I was asking him questions about the one he ultimately bought he told me he couldn't remember the details since they all blended together.

    I bought in 2013 and went in at asking and thought I was crazy then. I couldn't imagine going over list, but I suppose that's the world we live in.
