Oh I know about that. But if I didn’t have bsm, then I would have a steel rear bumper was my thoughts.

My OR does not have the blind spot monitoring. Just set your mirrors correctly and you don't need it. Most people do not use their side-view mirrors correctly. Ask my wife

The BSM is not a replacement for using your mirrors correctly. It’s just one more added level of safety, if you want to use it.

If you use your mirrors correctly, you do not have a 'blind spot'. Therefore, using your mirrors correctly is a replacement for electronic monitoring of an area visible with an analog tool.

Bsm for me would just be an added security that my mirrors are correct and my traffic’s awareness and movement behind me is accurate. RCTA rear cross traffic alert is what I think is most beneficial in the tech package. I can use my mirrors and camera but it’s nice to get that extra sound if something comes along or you are too close to an object while you are looking at your mirrors for a split second.

I agree with this. We bought my wife a 2021 Corolla XSE that has BSM, RCTA and all the other crap that comes along with this. BSM and RCTA are both very nice features to have and I look forward to having them on my new truck. None of this stuff is needed but some of it's nice to have.

I've decided to not take delivery on the non tech package and was able to get my deposit back, it was 1K non refundable was my hang up. Its the only dealership I've come across with that all others are 500 refundable. I will wait for the right truck to come along which seemingly I got a call today about one it is a long bed however which i initially wanted but does not fit in the garage too well.. now have to figure out if the hassle of fitting it in the garage is worth it :)

There's a lot to think about. My garage is HUGE at 28' deep by 42' wide and as much as I'd like the double cab AND the 6' bed, I didn't want to go much bigger of a truck than I have right now due to garage space. The DCSB is also easier to whip into tight places. Those things were more important to me than the 6' bed and smoother tracking of the DCLB. I too wanted the Advanced Tech Package in addition to the Premium package.... but that's just me.

Is that a thing? Every dealership I called in my state when I was looking for allocations requested a $1k deposit but they were all 100% fully refundable.

When I was looking I was told it’s only non-refundable if I turned down exactly what I had requested.

If you have expectations of being able to "Configure" your ride, you have no idea if it will ever be built, nor allocated to a dealer near you.
But if you put your money down on an allocation, and it's been built, I might see the "non-refundability" of the deposit. But if it hasn't been built yet?

That sounds reasonable and un-characteristically honorable.
