First rule of troubleshooting - undo the thing you last did to see if it changes back.

But first, check your fuses. All of them.

It could, is that when your cruise stopped working?

Cruise control works from the stalk, through the clock-spring to the ECU through 1 wire (plus ground). All the controls work by sending different resistances through the one wire to the ECU (plus ground). Some conditions will disable the cruise control for safety reasons. For example, problems with the ABS will disable cruise, but most (maybe not all) will also throw the CEL as well when it disables the cruise.

Does the cruise light even come on when you turn it on (without setting any speed)? If the module is causing an issue that is making the brake system think there is a problem, it will disable cruise through the ECU.

    I suspect a faulty clock-spring.

Spring coil crapping out the cruise control won't set off a check engine light, until the spring coil shits completely, and then the airbag light will come on...

Yes - the clock spring having a break won't necessarily throw a code unless the trace for the airbag is broken.

I installed the cruise myself on my 2013 base. After doing all the wiring, swapping the stalk, etc. it didn't work - but everything else going through the clockspring did (no cell).

Measuring the resistance from the input of the clockspring to the output terminal (S8) below the steering column showed infinite resistance. Pulling the clockspring revealed ONLY the trace for the cruise to be broken because of some kind of abrasion (I took it apart since I was replacing it anyway).

OP hasn't been back since they posted but they need to first answer whether or not it stopped working when the 3rd brake light module was installed, if it did then the starting point would be to remove that and retest.
Clockspring is an easy check, if you can turn the cruise light on and off with the switch the clockspring is most likely good.

Return your lights to stock and see if the cruise works again, if it does then your problem is the aftermarket module if it doesn't then we can troubleshoot it further.

You can’t set it if the brake system is activate.
I’m with @Dm93 . Remove module, see if problem persists.
