    I would like someone to give me one rule or law (that humans have dreamed up) that could not be accomplished using simple common sense.

    I can't do that but I can tell you the guy out here in the shop with me doesn't use common sense.

    His Jeep windshield got a small crack in it a couple weeks ago. He put packing tape on it to slow it down (his words, not mine). It's all the way across his window now, tape still in original spot.

    He came over here earlier talking about how much a new one is. I said call your insurance.

    He said he found one on Amazon. I said call your insurance.

    He said I've never put one in. I said call your insurance.

    He said by the times he buys the tools, etc, he'd have about as much as paying to have a new one put in by a glass company. I said call your insurance.

    I think he's deaf :frusty:

    Maybe he's using them as hooks for coat racks. Might be cheaper to forge his own out of melted aluminum or whatever he's using, having you drill and tap them. Got that production on lockdown.

    Cheap crap!?!? :eek::eek::eek:

    If you happen to win (and I have my doubts;)) you would win these amazing prizes!!!

    1. A non expense paid trip to the island of your choice!! That's right Will, you and one lucky guest can fly anywhere you like for however much it costs!!! And if thats not enough to git yer holiday juices flowing, you could also win...

    2. A year's supply of odor eaters for kids!! These little gems certainly come in handy when that energetic toddler takes his shoes off at the supper table!! :facepalm:
    And last but least, you might also win....

    3. A shiny new popcorn button for your microwave!!! Let's face it, the popcorn button is the only button with any wear and tear on it, who wouldn't want a shiny new one in their stocking!!!

    Good luck, Will!! :fistbump:

    Not deaf. Just doesn't hear because he refuses to listen since he has already predetermined the answer. Save your sanity, switch to "I wish you luck, let me know how it turns out".

    That works too. But you have to have fun with it. I like: "Hmm, interesting. Let me give it some thought and I will get back to you about it." Which of course, you never do. If he asks, you are always "Still giving it some thought."

    If he'd only placed the tape in a giant x across the entire windshield crack no run. In 3 layers though. Inconvenient for vision's sake, but it will* work.

    Sometimes it’s a learnin’ experience. Like the frozen zipper stickin’ to your tongue when it shouldn’t be flappin’ outside. Never have to get a refresher in that one. :)
