All you have to do is chat MS support through the activation help dialogs and they will activate Win10 for you. The reps couldn't give a shit, I haven't paid for a key ever. One guy even pasted like 30 keys into notepad on a computer I was having him activate. :jpow:

Having a new AutoDesk Revit (w/ Enscape) system put together...

    Intel i9-13900KF
    Gigabyte Z790 AORUS MASTER MB
    Kingston FURY Beast 64GB DDR5 5600MHz ram
    Samsung 980 PRO NVMe M.2 PCI-E 1 TB SSD
Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 TT Premium Edition 80 PLUS Gold Modular Power Supply, 1200W
Arctic Cooling Liquid Freezer II 420 CPU Water Cooler
Fractal Design Torrent Dark Tint Tempered Glass E-ATX Computer Case

Subbing in some Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP-14 PWM 140mm fans

And I'm re-using my ASUS ROG Strix 3090 GPU. Along with my backup Sata 1TB SSD

It'll be ready for a 4000 series GPU (or equivalent) sometime down the road. But my 3090 is more than enough for my work.
Looking forward to running this machine!

How do you like the Torrent and why did you choose it if you went AIO instead of air since it’s mainly and air cooling case?

Going a bit off the recommendation from the guy I'm getting to build this machine. I haven't seen the case yet. But I heard it's big. And I did watch a good review video, from Gamers Nexus.
I have plenty of space in my office. And this rig will be on trolley under my desk. My current system runs a tad bit warm. And will all these new components (plus a possible future 4090, or something like that)....I don't want any issues with heat.
The 13900 is cooker, from what I understand. And my 3090 gets toasty as well. My Revit software has some quirky aspects to how it runs. Depending on the functions I'm using, my CPU goes from a light 'idle' to a 'flat out'.. then back. Revit has some intense CPU demands, at times. And my Enscape Add-on software (real time rendering) can sometimes spool up the GPU demands quite heavily.
It's like driving a high performance car.....and mashing the throttles to the floor, for 30 to 45 seconds....then backing off.... several times per hour. So I just want to keep things as cool as possible.

    *Edit*
I think it's important to understand that this is a work machine. It's optimized similarly to a 'gamer computer' (as my Revit and Enscape software have similar demands to gaming rigs). And although there's some hard-core gamers out there.... I don't think too many are putting in the daily and weekly time I'm putting in. So keeping things cool, for long stretches, is prime for me.

Makes sense. Was just curious of choosing the Torrent vs a more water cooled oriented case. Fantastic build though and the Torrent would be my number one choice if I was building new today.

So far I’ve bought 4 windows keys for different builds and even office and it’s always worked seconds after purchasing. I think I pay about $17 per windows key.

also, my sff build was flawless for what it’s used for. Took it to my buddies house for a lan party before his wedding and it was more annoying carrying a screen than this entire PC.

the little mouse / keyboard combo is also essential for travel and this sff gaming pc

I'm considering a garage build with the extra 3070 I've got after getting such a cheap key

I’m wondering the same since I have my 3600 and rx580 just sitting there and not a single offer for the $120 I have them listed for.

Looking forward to this machine!! I opted against full on water cooling, mostly because I do NOT want to maintain it. lol
I need 'bolt-on' stuff. And parts I don't have to fiddle with. Most of the water cooled systems I see, give me anxiety..

I was going to go with the torrent but using an AIO in it is a PITA. Hopefully your builder isn't going to throw the radiator in the case basement, the pump won't last in that configuration.

Where are you buying windows keys for clarification? I saw a couple different places listed above.

Yeah, needed to make some slight case mods to make it work. But wasn't too bad. Just a small section of the fan support needed to be cut off....

Reasonably tidy.. The builder is in Edmonton, so I need to pop up there very soon - to swap in my 3090, and finish things up. Not much for RGB... as no one really sees it. And I don't really need a 'light show'. lol

Oh there will be some mods all right
Well, after watching reviews on the 7900xtx I'm thinking I'll be getting one. Most likely going to wait a little and see how it holds up when the masses get their hands on it though. Thinking I might even do a new build and go amd with the processor as well.

it's not like you can buy one anyways, scalpers got all of them. They went live around 6am and sold out quick, unlucky for me I was stuck at work. I might just pickup a 4080 since stock might not be back until mid next year with how slow amd is on restocks.

    That sucks.

Woke up at 530am (for school as usual) and looked to see Best Buy had already sold out by then.

Didn't see them listed on AMD's website though? Looked in the afternoon and sold out.

didn't see them on their website either, the problem is scalpers have bots. They buy up all the stock in less than a minute, making it impossible for an actual person to buy. Same happened when I tried to buy a PS5 when it launched, all the websites crashed and sold out with in 30 seconds.

Thank you sir. So after purchase, they just email a key code and there's no need to have to call in to MS?
