Has anyone used purchased screen protectors for the gear shift and ac display pieces that are prone to scratches on the 3rd gen?

 

I got a Screen Protech kit a year or two ago and have been happy with it. If you find them on FB or insta I think you can ask for a discount code. Easy to put on too- the link is blocked on TW for some reason but it’s the name then .com

… i reread what your looking for and maybe I’m talking about different things. I didn’t get the gear select, only the radio and cluster screens, that are also prone to scratching.

It’s really not that simple. Generally yes, but the costs in MD are sneakier. Local county income tax. Tolls. Etc.

Car registration wise the dollar amount was more in CA, but I think I’m getting nailed more with MD taxes (pay me now vs pay me later). And if you go over to VA, have fun with property tax on vehicles. Cheaper to run CA plates than VA.

I bought the Truck new so I think they give me longer on the smog in California, which I believe is 2 years . Safety inspection is much better; coming from Hawaii we had to do that annually, which is ridiculous. Is it just safety or do they smog as well?

 

I heard about the property tax in Virginia, I was there for 7 months and opted to stay with Illinois registration. This is not a thing in Maryland?

It can be a thing anywhere. Legally you should have plates denoting where your vehicle resides.

Unless you are active duty. Then that’s a whole different beast.

 

I was wondering more if vehicles were considered for the "property tax" in Maryland

 

They are not. MD hits you more on the income taxes.

 

If they don't get you one place it's another.

Maryland taxes & outrageous crime is why I moved to WV. Property tax here in WV on my cabin on 21acres is ALOT cheaper than what I was paying on my Baltimore co home with a small yard. My Potomac Edison electric bill here is alot cheaper compared to BGE in Baltimore. If no one uses the camper the monthly electric bill is only $5 bucks, pay more than that a month in MD for fees & taxes. If someone does use it a few times a month it's not much more. WV has yearly property tax on vehicles, it's only a few bucks a year. I'm paying $6 a year for my yard art Studebaker puckup to sit here. But no sales tax on guns & ammo in WV lol.

 

Ice storm is predicted for here tonight into tomorrow. If it's nasty where you're at be careful if you go out. I'm gonna take my beater Tacoma down to my wood pile and bring a load of firewood up to my porch today. If the power goes out I'll have heat and a stove to cook on. As long as I'm warm and my stomach is full I'm happy. I might have to jump in the SxS and make a beer run down into town.
