I see a bunch of new posts on the 4th gen Tacoma. What do you think of the possible Maverick competitor.. I think it will sell fairly well. To be honest if it would pull my 1200lb sxs and say 800lb trailer it is all I would need....What's your thoughts?2024-toyota-stout-light-truck-revival-feels-cgi-ready-to-rock-the-maverick-world_3.jpg

If they made something similar to the Maverick, you would be able to pull that just fine. Friend has a Maverick and no issues pulling a travel trailer (About 3,500# loaded).

    Very Gen (whatever).
Probably would sport some 4 cyl turbo in it... or some hybrid thing going gas/battery, which is ok with me.
    I suspect a low ( 1200 pound? ) tow limit.
    Might have 4WD.

I envision a cute little 'cooler' or something in the bed.

But, if reliable - go for it.

This was how us 2nd gen fans felt when your 3rd gen was released. But lucky for us, looks may have skipped a generation but returned :) I'm getting an FJ vibe off the front. Kinda like the look.

Right now I think the cheapest Tacoma in Canada is roughly 43k. If this came pretty loaded for under 40 I would deff consider. I just got rid of my 19 Rav a few months back it said I think 3500lbs towing and I would go no where's near that with it.

I think that is a concept.

Also, "Stout" might not be the name used. I think Toyota registered it as a place holder name yet to be decided.

    and not a Tacoma

Don't know at all my computer skills are just fair I just grabbed this online but Kirk Kriefals and David from Automotive press both did videos on a maverick competitor. Just wanted to hear thoughts on a possible one.

That's a render from the mini Cruiser EV Toyota showed off and something else. Wait for the intro of the new Toyota pickup. May or may not be called the Tacoma anymore. Probably names HiLux ending the Tacoma name. But design should be close to this...

I think the new Tacoma will look about 90% of this one they showed. And yes it does look like the EV cruiser with a bed on it. I do think we will be getting something below the Tacoma but will it be unibody or body on frame? My guess is a unibody......

that looks like the perfect candidate to hang 1500+ lbs of armor, winches and overlanding accessories off of and then bitch about how under powered and bad on fuel it is. i am definitely in.

That is fugly AF (and probably fake). But to be honest I like the basic concept. Dailying a heavy Taco with big tires and all that is no bueno. But with the way the used market is still looking, getting something like a Rav4 or Camry isnt really that cost effective either.

If Toyota offered something brand new with a warranty at a bare-bones entry level price I think that would interest a lot of folks.
