With the used car pricing still being pretty solid, I decided to trade in my prior compact sports car for something a bit opposite. I had been looking at the Tacoma years ago, but ended up deciding against it for the lack of rear leg room. That vehicle choice ended up being a fullsize car, so this time around rear leg room just had to be sufficient.

Hit up my local Toyota dealer and kind of ran into some crazy luck. They had a near base-level white Tacoma and then a 2023 TRD Off-Road Premium/Tech/LED . Took the TRD out for a test drive, made sure my wife liked it, took it out for another test drive, and ended up signing for it a couple hours later. No dealer or port added options, and got it for 350 under MSRP. I think it started with 8 miles and I bought it at 30 with my test drives lol.

Was going to go with maybe a Subaru Wrx...3 series?

Congrats either way, you load that thing up and go camping...or glamping if the rugged outdoors isn't your thing.
