    That wasn’t exactly his point.

When I first saw that I thought the same thing. Prepandemic my all pro bumper was something like 1,200. I haven’t priced bumpers in a while and was surprised. But I understand why.

I feel for those starting builds now.

    True.

I'm going to start designing a 4wd kit soon and hope by cutting scrub and keeping a healthy SAI it'll save the racks kinda like my current 2wd kit.

yea depending on the trail at WR you can easily bust racks. Nasty muddy slippery rock is most of the terrain there after a good rainstorm which is pretty frequent around here haha.

paid a local redneck to build this for me. 650$ found him on facebook. I did the skids myself and modded it a little. 1105220933c_HDR.jpg

Just giving people an idea of what one might pay for one fabbed during pandemic time. And doubled in price from pre pandemic. I've had two bumpers built. If you like the listed bumper, certainly the way to go.. pricing certainly has gone up.

Only 200 thousand tacks to go. You’re almost there.

    Looks good though.

I have to keep the temptation away when I’m doing mine. I would be so tempted at the point you’re at just to slap on some seam sealer/panel bond and call it a day.

Shit is so thin I’d recommend doing that anyways after welding. That’s what I did

Oh yeah I’m definitely going to seal it all up after welding. Just have to keep myself from sealing it before I’m done.

I finished building the upper wheel wells today. Just need to finish relocating my battery and I can start chopping.

No. You must light the interior on fire first. It’s a right of passage.

That said when I did the back half I definitely just seam sealered the shot out of the holes after tacking things in place.

I’ll raise you one. My last car was a 500hp WRX that I shaved the engine bay on. For a lot of the holes I just used liquid nails and glued quarters to the backside and bondo’d the front smooth. :anonymous:

Oh I 100% am done with this side. There really isn't much strength gained from doubling the tacks vs what’s there now. I’m seam sealing it and calling it a day. And I used 18 gauge and with the bends in it it’s strong as hell in there now. Plus I’m not worried about if the tire tries to come thru since the cage is there to stop it anyways.

nah, I would have to cut out the factory wire hole out to go any further and I don’t have time to deal with make the fuse box smaller and redoing the firewall pass thru. But I don’t crawl at all so I’m not at all interested in going that big. About the only reason I want to even go to 37’s would be to find some Baja t/a takeoffs.
