East side, never been on the west side either. Have you seen the tramway?

I can get more out of the heater. The power pack is the greatest limiting factor. I would rather have it 40 all night than have it in the 60s and have the battery die in the middle of the night. A larger capacity battery (mine is 300wh) would be able to keep it warmer longer. I do have a good sleeping bag and a warm dog. I was very comfortable.

Are you referring to the rods holding the storage things on either side? So those are for the back of bench seats in vans or suvs. Instead of describing how to i'll just give you pics. If there's anything you don't understand just ask! Important part is they are removable when I want to collapse or remove the softopper. The "mattress" is a 4" thick piece of memory foam cut to fit the contours of the 6' bed. plus 2' additional for the tailgate for the pup!

Thank you!!! 3 week Coastal honeymoon living outta the taco.

No, I bought it from softopper.com with the topper it self. Add 2' to the 6' bed. Easy install and removal, 4min.

Thank you for the pictures, that helped a lot! I’ve been slowly acquiring items to camp out of my truck similar to your rig: Softopper, Dac tent, and, the most recent addition, a milliard foam mattress. However I haven’t figured out where to store personal items out of the way, but still easily accessible. Do you do any cold weather camping with your setup? I’d be interested in knowing how you combat the cold and condensation.

We find it to be the best way to camp, however, where to put stuff is the problem... Thats why we haul this trailer organized to perfection for ease. Another awesome thing you will wanna add to your list is this SJK Roadhouse tarp... Must have on any sunny, rainy, windy conditions. Everything you see in the pictures fits just right in the trailer, plus 3 coolers and everything you need, everything stays in the trailer and we access when needed.

NO winter camping for us, I HATE WINTER, sorry...

IMO a forced hot air heater is the best for both of those concerns. But there are several different options used by the community. Lots of good diesel heater ideas in this thread

is that a camp chef pro 60? or 14?

how small does that pack up? ive been eyeing it but have not found a good picture of it in it's bag. its heavier than the everest im sure, but is it easy to maneuver when closed?

Checked out the tarp and I decided it would be a good addition, found a place that had it for a good price.

Pretty big, no bag. Folds up nice but I modified lid to lock so its not flopping around when lifting around.
Kinda clunky. You can see it packed up at the front of my trailer.
    Worth EVERY penny.

    Awesome!!
In one trip we used it to shed rain, block wind and shade us from the searing sun. Packs up smaller than a 3 person tent. Ive even used it in the driveway!

Now that lighting is installed, the bed will be cleaned up/out & rest of the camping set up will go in in the next few days. Ready for ski season!

Appreciate the info, and will keep an eye out for tarps. I would love a trailer, but don’t have anywhere to store one.
