Well, it had a safe journey! (Phew; I always get nervous opening the box)

It's a 2005, and shows some signs of it's age, but overall body and neck are in great shape. Does have a couple issues to address... a couple of the tuners are a bit gritty and feel like they have a little play; I've got a spare set handy, so plan to swap them out for a quick fix. Unplugged, it sounds fantastic; plugged in, however, there's some gremlins. Getting a little bit of a ghost note buzz, and some crackle on the neck pickup. Looking at the cavity, looks like a loose solder joint on the neck pot, and also appears to be some residue or perhaps corrosion (from perhaps leftover flux, or most likely a residue from deoxit spray or something like that). I've got plenty of spare pots and caps, so plan to rewire it tomorrow as well. She'll be back in ship shape in no time.

What colour is that residue on the pot?

White, with a rough/abrasive texture; though a couple also have a slight green tint to it. There's no evidence of moisture intrusion or high humidity issues; so my best guesses are either a dry film formed that has etched into the metal; or perhaps someone had used a big messy glob of flux paste and didn't wipe away the excess.

Anything with a green tint is a bacteria influence. Maybe bacteria is the wrong word., organic perhaps?..but ya, it's not corrision per se, but you don't want it

Wiring all freshened up and renewed; threw in a set of Wolfetone pickups while I was at it (Dr Vintage neck/Marshalhead bridge); a little more my taste over the Seth Lover's it came with. Tuners swapped over as well.

I noticed the bridge was quite loose... I know bridges usually aren't a very snug fit on there posts; but this one sat far looser than any I recall working on before. Going to either order a tonepro or faber kit and swap it out. Saw that the tail said "Made in Germany" (so likely a Schaller) while the bridge was labeled Gotoh. Heritage typically used Schaller hardware (not always, as they often took customer requests back in the day), so guessing at some point someone swapped just the bridge out, and it wasn't exactly a match fit.

also on Clist... and making me want... Epi SG Iverness Green w/blk P90's. Asking 250$
Gawd, I dont need another guitar... Anyone played one? Can be had new for around 399$ Probably the most porous wood finish I have ever seen on a newish guitar. Even the neck seems that way from pics I have seen on Epiphones site. But P90's and SG aspects are interesting.

I figure at 250$ I wouldnt feel bad about taking a piece of ScotchBrite to the neck. haha but, 250$ could be used for other more "important" things.

Not sure who the original owner of this one was; I snagged it from Daves Guitar Shop.

Though speaking of unique... I do happen to be the owner of this one -

That one is pretty unique as well, both of those are custom shop units. You have excellent taste in guitars.

Man, look at that detail and the neck work. That took some time. It's a really nice guitar.

Mod list... Well, my paint is factory.
I'm not a player but my dad is. He's played bass and guitar for over 50 years. For his birthday, last year, I made him a bass. It was my first crack at making anything like a guitar or bass. It will look strange to any bass players here because he specifically wanted the mix of pickups and number of volume/tone controls that seemed to be pretty rare once I researched it. Anyway, I posted it in the woodworking thread a while back but figured you guys/gals might appreciate it.
