The closest is full float with drive flanges.

Hubs seem like a bad idea for strength and getting punk'd on the trail haha

1997 t4r has super duty axles, 5.13s locked front and rear. 3 link front with 14" kings. Rear 63s.
Depends on what model. Just did a regear on a sr5 and it was a 8”

Ah, gotcha. For some reason I thought they had ditched it entirely.... But I guess it's pretty well tried and true

My current understanding is that Non elocker 03-current runners and 05-15 tacomas have 8.4’s. The elockers are 8’s, and the 5th gen 4Runner’s with elockers have 8.2’s. Not sure what comes in 3rd gen tacos.

What you really need is a FF. Life will be so much easier to change on the trail and they're stronger vs semi float.

Got one already! @Kerleyfries still likes 8" Toyota axles for some reason...

I still don’t even have the runner yet. I’m open to most whatever, I just know I don’t want to run tons. I think I’ve narrowed it down to either

    1. fzj80’s. Have to cut and flip the front axle
    2. Fabbed front to take either an fzj80 center or a Toyota 8.4. This requires I buy 2, maybe 3 axles to combine into 1.
    3. Jk/jl D44’s. Eww Jeep parts, but already elocked and more than strong enough for whatever I want to do.

My plan with this build is to camp and wheel with. I want to keep it looking clean and don’t want to have to hack the fenders way out to clear tons and 40’s, so I’m wanting to stay on narrower axles. As of now, I think I’ll stay on 37’s, potentially move to 40’s later on. I don’t want to do buggy shit or ever go beyond 40’s. I’m planning a trip out west and would like to have the confidence to drive this thing from TN to MT, wheel a bit along the way in Colorado and Utah, then drive it back and not hate it along the way.

If anyone has axle suggestions, let me know.

Make sure you 4link the front

I already told you, don't flip the front, get a pax drop gear drive crawler/tcase setup.

    I know you're running a FF9.5

I was referring to those who still want to run a semi, why?
