Are we bringing radios on our camping trip so we can talk to each other from our tents?

I’ve only driven the forest roads up in Francis Marion. It’s a good way to burn a few hours. I don’t usually stray far from the beaten path since I’m always solo and i don’t have a winch or much recovery gear. I live down on Johns island though so I still don’t go much anymore

I've heard those roads can get pretty muddy out there, never been out that way. There's some hunting roads up near Cottageville I've gone to a couple times nothing crazy though, wanting something a bit more exciting.

I think most of it is just dirt road and muddy spots. Maybe if we go through a good dry spell the ruts will add a little excitement!

Unfortunately there isn't much of anything 'exciting' around the lowcountry. The Francis Marion has endless miles of dirt roads but that's basically all it is. Sure there are a few muddy areas but if you stay on the main roads you'll be fine.

There's a route that circles the Walterboro/Cottageville area but I haven't checked that out yet. If you want the gpx files for that just shoot me a message.

There's nothing worth a shit around Charleston unless you like mud and rolling on dirt flat road's. Usually we'll go upstate to gulches , North Carolina to URE , or Tennessee to windrock or AOP.

Seems to be what I've seen. Looks like some cool looking places up near Greenville though.

Are you talking about Parker's Ferry road and that area? I've been out there before its pretty cool but for the most part just flat... a few areas that are fun though

I think the Poinsett State Forest off of Hwy 261 near Sumter is under the radar.
When I was stationed at Shaw AFB I would 4WD all over that place. One day
I popped into some Plantation owners front yard. He was like how the fuck did
you just climb that hill into my yard?

There is supposed to be some decent rides near Aiken. Pretty sure you mentioned them a while back.

The FSR around here can be decent, too. Just don't get stuck venturing off the beaten path.

There's actually some smaller hills up that way too which might be fun. Around here the biggest hill is the bridge.

Brings me to the next thing - anyone ever install a LSD into a 1st gen? The one wheel drive thing really hurts sometimes.

I've looked into a 4wd conversion but decided against it. Thinking a limited slip would handle pretty much everything I'd ever throw at this truck

If you're running big tires, I would highly suggest getting a built third member from East Coast gear supply with new/bigger and whatever locker options you want . I personally run a rear ARB with 456 gears front and rear

Currently running 265/70r16 might go to 265/75r16 when the time comes for new tires. A whole new 3rd member would be amazing. That price goes up quick
