when i lived in cumberland it was 870ft

I’m at 2120ft where i’m at now.

over in WV we’re at 1700ft

@hyrule_trd - Happy Birthday! I left for work at 6:45,headed north into Hanover, PA. The road were slushy but not slick, except for the bridge surfaces (concrete). As I look out of the window in the office, the roads look like small rivers from all of the rain. Just imagine at the mess it would be if it were only 5° colder.. The next storm models are looking interesting for next week.

The promised weather was a big-fat Nothing. Only rain all day in/around Aberdeen. Major let down. (sigh)

 

Sleet rain mix here now. We lost power 11:30 this morning so im thankful for my woodstove. I'm out taking a ride, but I'm thinking I should've grabbed the SxS. Roof & windshield would be nice right about now. And a roll cage with all these leaning trees. The trees up here look like Baltimore herion addicts.

 

That happens a lot more than you might expect. The bay here and the winds off it causes a lot of things to end up changing that are not forecasted.

 

I left the house around 530 am . Expecting I’ve but just rain.

My 71yo neighbor called me today that also has no power. Because of the ice he couldn't get to his woodpile that's out on his property. I had to drive thru about 5 of these leaning trees to get to his place so I could bring him in some firewood. I put the ole runner in 4Lo and took it slow. Even with the icy inclines & declines here on the mountain no issues. Damn battery was dead in the 80.

 

I was sold at you driving out to help out, in any weather.

Good neighbors can be ... at times ... a rarity. I happen to have a few with whom we are comfortable enough to share spare house keys.

Yep, a rarity.

 

You need those branch risers… like @RedDeadTaco (I think) has.

 

I have keys to 3 neighbors houses. Two are 2nd homes so I swing by and check on them when asked. Up here on the mountain it's a big help to have good neighbors.
