Hey everyone, got my first Tacoma. I was wondering if it is possible to do a direct bolt in from the 3.4 DOHC to a 3.0 Hilux. I am in the US, is it possible to get it here?

The 1KZ-TE turbo diesel? Will bolt to the A340 or the R150 with the right bellhousing, but maybe not the engine mounts.

“bolting in” is just one thing. Actually getting it to work is a different thing. Nothing about swapping engines is easy, you’d have to swap the entire wiring harness, computer, etc.

correct I am aware about that part; I am really curious about the bolt in part. If it would bolt up then I will do that to mine and do the other stuff as well.

I’ve heard that the 1KZ bolts up to the 5VZ engine mounts but don’t quote me on that. There’s someone on here who’s done this swap

Alright thank you guys for the info! I'm more than likely going to go with the swap when this 3.4 is on its way out. It is getting close found some glitter in oil change and smell of gas in oil as well. 215,000 miles on original motor and tras.

215k is nothing haha. My old beat up work truck with the same 3.4 as you had 454,000 miles and I hear it’s still going. These engines last forever.
