Nice. Since I won’t be on the street I'm wanting to do a spool rear. Debating on the front, but probably a Detroit or something similar. Not another ARB.

This one is on superduty axles and 37s. Kinda wish I didn’t stretch my wheel base to fit the 40s. Front fenders were trimmed for the previous setup

How far stretched are you taking about?

That's one thing I question my buddy with 1t axle. Why run 37" with 1t axle and still get hung and why not run 40"+ since 1t is known for strength.

Out west here, guys run 37" with mini axles and some with 40" on FJ80.

Great stance. I used to get a lot of hate for sitting down on my 49s...was leaf sprung. Everyone wanted to bring up "up travel" with me. Id post pics but that was almost 20 yrs of phones ago..

Heard we where talking about fabd housings… you know my answer. Ruffstuff 609s… I’d consider the trail gear housings as well. They’re roller kits are great price point. If you don’t have to run a high pinion front and can source used inner cs and knuckles, the front axle comes out close to the same as building a junkyard 60 in my experience. Of course that’s doing all your own fab work. 00E6D9FA-3824-4A3D-83FD-B7B74BFD147B.jpgA8FB3504-9465-41FB-B32C-71A00047B4E0.jpg

No problem. Not stacking tacks and I don’t do c whips. I was doing the e whip but have changed that up. This was built with a Lincoln 175hd engine itn .035 wire. I have since moved to a hobart 230 with .030 wire.

If I hang out in here long enough y'all will catch onto this as well as the local guys... but my ADHD with projects is all over the fucking place. Especially with all the different routes I could take for a sas.

That said, I think I figured out last night that I can run an nwf ecocrawler behind the a340f, use the vf2a internals in it, then put an RF1a gear driven box behind that to convert to passenger's side drop and run a factory setup FJ80 axle with no modifcations to the axle. I'm going to call nwf today to confirm that I'm understanding that correctly. Which puts me in the WMS realm I want to be in, and keeps my costs relatively low. I'll be ~ $2500 into a dual case setup, and then I can just run a set of fj80 axles with gears and whatever lockers I decide. In my head I think I could be less than $5-6k into axles and dual cases... then the links/suspension/steering on top of that. But keeps my case / axle cost lower for sure.

Called NWF and confirmed that my suspicion was true.
