    I got the black ones I posted last night. Amazon wanted $160, the price tag on the box said $120 and they were on sale for $90. Not too bad

    at a past job our UPS guy always wore shorts unless it was below zero. we used to give him such crap about it. but he was a good sport.
    i still don't know how he did it...those delivery trucks are not insulated and all of the stops...it had to be chilly!

    G'evening peoples.

    I'm attempting to bake the second cake of my lifetime, it's a B-day cake for the lady friend. Betty Crocker's finest Devils Food cake. MTgirl gave me a great tip last year for substituting the oil for butter, it was delicious last year so I tried it again. 10 minutes to go until I check it with the toothpick.

    I hope that everyone is bundled up and ready for another cold night. The YT weather gurus are all squawking about the Christmas blizzard next week. I'll believe it when I see it.

    Then there's the sandals...a guy I used to know would wear sandals every day unless there was over an inch of fresh snow on the ground...along with his shorts.

    Not for me. I don't mind the cold so much but shorts and sandals goes a bit far for me.

    what kind of icing/frosting? just the basic tub-o-frosting from the store? throw it in a bowl and mix it up with the whisk attachment on the mixer. makes it all fluffy like and just a bit fancier.

    I had planned on sneaking some Vanilla icing around the center between the layers then dark chocolate around the outside. I'm not much of a pastry chef but I'm trying.

    there's a chocolate cake that I make that calls for some cherry preserves between the layers. so good. just a little extra sweet tart layer in the whole chocolately goodness.
