ah i gotcha that sucks about the heart issue one thou! they look like very sweet pups!

60lbs is rather heavy for a heeler my last heeler had thyroid issues so she was always over weight a bit at close to 60lbs the norm for females is around 45-50lbs from everything ive been told height can varry since my last one was super tall for a heeler she had more of a dingo look

Yes i thought 30lbs was veery light and 60lbs veery big/heavy?? If i can find the article tho its very explanitory going back to when they were first bred. They showed some pics of odd dogs lined up next to each other and the size shapes were drastically different... wife knows way more than i do. I was told the "mini" guys originated in Texas but id bet there were minis in Australia long before that.

 

Haha…she is a professional heart string puller and occasional trash monger. Most gentle, good natured, co dependent dog we’ve ever owned.

 

ya its odd with heelers since they seem to vary so much with my first one bella my cousin always swore she wasnt a heeler until i went and got her tested to show she was in fact 100% a heeler she was just taller eevee on the other hand ive seen both her parents and she wasnt the runt she was larger then her siblings so hopefully she will grow out like her mother and be in the sweet spot of 45lbs


this was bella she was a taller and skinny shapped for her breed but so damn gorgeous she always got compliments when we went out on walks

this is eevee she is still rather small but very pretty as well she has more white on here then bella did thou so her coat is different

 

Good looking dogs! How tall is eevee at the shoulder....frank is sleeping but ill pull a measurement on him later when hes up to no good.

 

tbh idk ive never measure at that spot ive always had her sit on her but and put a mark on the wall above he head haha when i get home in an hour ill measure her well.... if she stays still lmao

edit: thanks i love tri coat blue heelers so after i lost bella i was looking for another tri coat

 

Lol the sitting still part... my cousin is a vet tech and has always gone to the shoulder height and width, rear hip width and length from nose to rump when grading my dogs...i used to have pit bulls lol...i had a dog roscoe pico that was 20" at the shoulder and almost 17" wide at the shoulder, he was just under 100lbs. Chonk was his nick name. Miss that little meat head...

 

maaan im sure you get it thou haha heelers just love to be wild and when you are at work for 8 hours and not playing or walking them oh man she goes nuts! for about 5mins its just run run run run jump and yip because idk how none of my heelers have ever barked its always a yip lmao. i can take her on a 30min walk and that just warms her legs up for more crazy lmao.

Yes they are nuts! We are lucky to be able to bring them most everywhere we go and or one of us is home. We also have an acreage so plenty of run space. If i have time this summer ill be putting up some agility stuff and eventually have a whole corse..these guys love to learn and well run a muck! If u have even a small space u could set up even some platforms and a tunnel...she will love it! Ours have that yip too mostly but will do a big dog bark and even a few howls now. Yes roscoe was a big boy.. i lived in town in oregon at the time and it was a shame people were always affraid of him...he was just a gentle boy and wanted nothing more than to please everyone.

 

yuuuup my last heeler took a year and a half before she calmed down and would just relax! eevee thou im not so sure of lmao and yes agility! i want to work with her on it! she is already jumping vertical over 3ft now! her dad can do 6ft vertical and distance! so she has it in her plus the ability that my last dog didnt which is she is so light on her feet and can switch direction on a dime on the ground or the air! its pretty wild watching what she does! ya that yip is oh man the worst lmao its so loud it makes my ear ring sometimes when she does it near me lmao ive only heard a big dog bark twice from her when she felt threatened but ive never heard a howl tbh! thats a shame ive known a few pits who were just very sweet dogs and just wanted nothing more then love... hell some people were afraid of bella since she had a very stern look about her vs eevee and a big goofy smile lol so dog parks and walks people would always be wary of bella until she wagged her tail then they knew she was chill well unless you tried to get to me lol

 

Ps i actually "took" roscoe from some gangsters back yard...he was chained up with 20ft of ½ chain in a wollow of garbage. Whenever id walk my other bully through the back yard alley hed come up and calmly visit us. I never saw anyone out there, never saw a food or water bowl. I even later walked him through that same alley past his old yard and never looked back and nobody ever noticed us....guess they didnt want him.

 

Look up mccanndogs on utoob...search dog barks at everything. They are very smart dogs and likely she has a very good reason(for her) for barking...u know like leaves blowing by or maybe her water bowl id half inch down..

 

I will say after having mostly bullies, acd/heelers are 10 times harder to work with but when u start to get it, the dog will be getting it too. The only other dog ive had even close to a heeler was an Australian shepard..same drive, smarts and similar personality.

 

Just measured her and man not easy haha she is between 18-19 inches tall

 

Yeah she'll be bigger than these guys..they are barely 15" at the shoulder...frank is 32 lbs tho..Frank the tank!

 

Ya her mom is taller so I’m hopefully with her tummy issues and me having to swap her to adult food didn’t stunt her growth! Haha frank the tank that’s great!

a bit yes but the puppy food was very rich and made her stomach very sickly
