    Morning Linwood
    Morning Kevin
    Morning Alex - uh, pass

:annoyed:Good Morning SA! House needs a reboot!!!! Stuff has no reason to be doing this. Yesterday, wife tells me the land line (on internet) phones all say "out of range or no power at base" - and don't work. Except the base is powered and she called Spectrum, and our phone connection is "fine". Unplug the base, haul it do the office for connection directly to modem. Nada. Bring it back. Nada. Unplug it for 10 minutes. Nada. Tell her to set time and date. "it's set". Put it down on the base, and it works.

So, I fixed my amp for the sunroom TV, right? I'm watching the local NBC for my weather and not a problem at all. Then on comes Lester Holt and the national news, and nothing but oddly phased music, and no voice! This happened yesterday too! Right at the switch. Switch to CBS, and it's fine. Turn on dining room to NBC, it's fine - so it's not a network issue.
During the news on CBS, a drug commercial comes on - I only get the music, NO voice. Next commercial fine. Progressive Book selling Dr. Rick - with no Dr. Rick, next commercial fine!
After the national news, switch back to NBC local, and it's fine. OK, I will reboot the cable and go eat. After dinner, fire up the Firestick connection for the game - and you guessed it - all bad sounding music - no voice. I tried fussing with settings on the TV, and what I could adjust, Googled every way to phrase the issue, and finally gave up and just watched the game with TV sound.

I use the optical output, and there is light, and there is no way a cord problem can be that selective.
This setup has been running this way for at least 3 years now.
No way the TV is smart enough to make "selective" audio output. On just one connection.
I realize the only real change was that I "reset" the Yamaha amp during the first attempts to get sound back. My ONLY reasonable guess is that somehow, the signals that screw up are somehow differently "encoded" audio type, that cause the Amp to not process it. I find references to "overrunning" and something similar - but of course not how to prevent it.
So, during the course of todays games, I have to go find a signal I can't process, and sit in front of the amp adjusting things until I can!

    Ah, first world problems!

    gotta reset the continuum transfunctioner.
the hitchhikers guide suggests drinking beer “until the problem resolves itself. at some point an internal or external source will rectify the issue with or without user input.”

    Anyone else really dislike FedEx?
Paid extra for express 1-2 day delivery for something I need for work. Company got it out the door first thing Thursday morning, should be here today or Saturday, right? FedEx is like, “1-2 day shipping, I’ll get it there in 6. Probably.” I think their formula for determining shipping speed is x2.5 whatever you pay for.

FedEx: “3-5 days? That’s 10 days, bud. 7-10 days? It’ll be there by 8pm some random day next month. And it’s going to need a signature even though you didn’t request that. Oh you’re not home? Dang. Here’s a little note. I see your car in the driveway and your is dog smiling at me through your glass door. Too bad my doorbell finger is out of order, here’s a little note. Come pick up your crap.”

    :playball:

In other news, weather is freaking awesome today.
    How you?
    What do?
    Tell me about your Tacoma

everyone that sends me FedX works just fine, even faster. Car stuff from in TX they send ground shows up in 2! But we do have cookies out this month!

How you? Both my bowl picks were wrong, TV has bad output, Amp can't process signals no more.
What do? Do? Spend mo money.
Tell me about your Tacoma. It was safely parked, and no harm came to it today.

    Morning Kevin
Morning Linwood - have a beer for me
    Morning Mark

:spending:Good Morning SA! Well, it had a good run, but why can't stuff like this die during Black Friday?

TV optical audio output (the only output they have anymore) is broken off inside.
Used the smaller dining room TV optical out to test the amp, and it can't process it.

So, off to Best Buy this morning to pick up what I ordered. At least, for the first time I can recall, I have electronic gizmos of the same (new models) vintage. And I bought their warranty, because they saved me before. And the old TV will stash in the old bedroom, and go to my sons new apartment in January. He doesn't care about the output; will probably just connect some Bluetooth computer speakers to the headphones. He's moving already because they don't have hot water - again. Been a constant problem for two months now.

Oh well, got some chili on for later, there's games to watch, and AV to install and play with.
